uTorrent is a P2P software that allows you to download torrent files such as movies, games, music and even e-books. Before you can download torrent files, you need to install the appropriate software on your computer. It's easy to do in just a few minutes.

Steps

Method 1 of 2: Installing uTorrent on Windows

1. 1 Open your preferred web browser.
2. 2 Enter http://www.utorrent.com in the address bar at the top of the screen.
3. 3 When you get to the uTorrent website, select the green “Download” button.
4. 4 Click “Windows” on the right side of the page.
5. 5 Select “Download Now” next to “uTorrent Stable 3.4.2.”
6. 6 Click “Save” when the download window appears. Then you will need to choose the location where you want to save the file. Choose any folder as well as your desktop to make the program easier to find.
7. 7 Open the uTorrent installer. When the download is complete, navigate to the folder or desktop where you saved the file. Double clicking on the downloaded file will launch the installation.
8. 8 Click “Next” on the first page of the uTorrent installation.
9. 9 Click “Next” again on the Warning page.
10. 10 Accept the User Agreement. Read the User Agreement and click “I Agree” to continue.
11. 11 Choose a storage location for uTorrent. By default, the program is installed in the Program Files folder.
    • This is where most users save their programs. However, if you want to install it elsewhere, click “Browse” to select the folder yourself.
    • Click “Next” after selection.
12. 12 Click “Install” to install the software.

Method 2 of 2: Installing uTorrent on Mac

1. 1 Launch the Safari browser on your Mac device. It can also be any other browser.
2. 2 Enter http://www.utorrent.com in the address bar. It is located at the top of the browser interface.
3. 3 Click the “Free Download” button at the top of the screen. You will be taken to the uTorrent for Mac page. The installation will start automatically.
4. 4 Go to the downloads section. Click on the icon at the top right of the browser. It looks like an arrow pointing down.
5. 5 Select uTorrent file download.
6. 6 Click “Open” when the notification pops up.
7. 7 Click the “Continue” button to install the program. uTorrent will automatically download to your Applications folder.
   • You can drag the uTorrent icon to the dock to create a shortcut.
