This article will show you how to delete all Facebook Messenger messages and conversations in one fell swoop. This method requires Google Chrome on your desktop and an extension from the Chrome Web Store.

Part 1 of 2: Installing an extension

1. 1 Start Google Chrome.
   • If you don't have Google Chrome on your computer, download and install it.
2. 2 Go to to the Chrome Web Store.
3. 3 Find browser extensions Facebook - Delete All Messages.
4. 4 Click on the Install button. It's a blue button with a + sign in the upper right corner of the page.
5. 5 Click the Install extension button in the window that appears to download and install the extension. Facebook - Delete All Messages.

Part 2 of 2: Delete Facebook Messages

1. 1 Go to Facebook.com.
2. 2 Log in to your account. Enter your email or phone number and password.
   • If you are automatically signed in to your account, you will be taken to your home page. You will have to enter your password again.
3. 3 Click on the "Messages" button. This button looks like a bubble with a lightning bolt, and it is located between the "Friend Requests" and "Notifications" buttons in the upper right corner of the page.
4. 4 Click the All in Messenger button at the bottom of the dialog box.
5. 5 Click on the "Facebook - Delete All Messages" icon in the browser extension bar. This button looks like the Facebook Messenger logo with a red X. It's in the upper right corner of the window, to the right of the address bar.
6. 6 Click on Open Your Messages in the dialog box.
7. 7 Read the warnings that appear on the screen. They are written in red under the word "Attention". Here is some important information about the uninstallation process.
8. 8 Click on Delete All Messages. It's a light green button at the top of the window.
9. 9 Click OK on the pop-up window. This will delete all messages and conversations in your Inbox.
   • There may still be a few messages left in the inbox. A second deletion will usually fix the problem and clear your inbox. To do this, you should refresh the page, click on the "Facebook - Delete All Messages" icon in the extension bar and repeat the steps mentioned earlier.
