In this article, we'll show you how to delete a post and your comments on Facebook. Keep in mind that you can complain about someone else's post, but you cannot delete it, unless the other person's post is on your page.

Steps

Method 1 of 4: How to delete a publication on your computer

1. 1 Open the Facebook site. Go to https://www.facebook.com/ in a computer browser.If you are already logged in, your news feed will open.
   • If you are not logged in yet, enter your email address (or phone number) in the upper right corner of the page and click Sign In.
2. 2 Click on the tab with your name. It's to the right of the search bar at the top of the page.
   • To delete your post on the wall of another user, in the search bar, enter the name of this user, click ↵ Enter, and then select the user's name from the search results.
3. 3 Find the post you want to delete. To do this, scroll down the page.
   • If you are tagged in another user's post, you cannot delete that post, but you can remove it from your page.
4. 4 Click on ⋯. It's in the upper-right corner of your post.
5. 5 Click on Delete. You will find this option at the bottom of the menu.
   • To remove your name from someone else's post, click Remove Flag> OK.
6. 6 Click on Deletewhen prompted. The post and associated content will be removed from the page.

Method 2 of 4: How to delete a post on a mobile device

1. 1 Launch the Facebook app. Click on the blue icon with a white "f". If you are already logged in, your news feed will open.
   • If you are not logged in yet, enter your email address and password.
2. 2 Tap ☰. This icon is in the lower-right (iPhone) or upper-right (Android) corner of the screen.
   • To delete your post on another user's page, enter that user's name in the search bar (at the top of the screen), and then select the user's name from the search results.
3. 3 Tap your name. You will find it at the top of the menu. This will open your profile page.
4. 4 Scroll down and find the post you want to delete. You can delete your own or someone else's post from your profile page.
   • You can only delete your own post from another user's page.
   • If you are tagged in another user's post, you cannot delete that post, but you can remove it from your page.
5. 5 Tap ⋯. It's in the upper-right corner of your post. A menu will open.
6. 6 Tap Delete. You will find this option at the bottom of the menu.
   • To remove your name from a flagged post, tap Remove Flag> OK (or Confirm on Android).
7. 7 Click on Delete postwhen prompted. This will remove the post from your profile. Also, comments, likes and other content related to the post will be removed.

Method 3 of 4: How to delete a comment on your computer

1. 1 Open the Facebook site. Go to https://www.facebook.com/ in a computer browser. If you are already logged in, your news feed will open.
   • If you are not logged in yet, enter your email address (or phone number) in the upper right corner of the page and click Sign In.
2. 2 Find your comment. This can be a comment on your or someone else's post.
   • To go to your page, click on the tab with your name at the top right of the news feed.
   • You can also delete someone else's comment on your post, but you cannot delete someone else's comment on someone else's post.
3. 3 Hover your mouse over the comment. A gray ellipsis icon appears to the right of the comment.
4. 4 Click on ⋯. This icon is to the right of the comment. A dropdown menu will open.
   • If you delete someone else's comment on your post, a pop-up menu will open.
5. 5 Click on Delete. It's in the drop-down menu.
   • Skip this step if you are deleting someone else's comment on your post.
6. 6 Click on Deletewhen prompted. The comment will be deleted.

Method 4 of 4: Delete a comment on a mobile device

1. 1 Launch the Facebook app. Click on the blue icon with a white "f". If you are already logged in, your news feed will open.
   • If you are not logged in yet, enter your email address and password.
2. 2 Find your comment. This can be a comment on your or someone else's post.
   • To go to your page, tap ☰ in the lower-right or upper-right corner of the screen, and then tap your name in the menu.
   • You can also delete someone else's comment on your post, but you cannot delete someone else's comment on someone else's post.
3. 3 Tap and hold on a comment. A pop-up menu will open.
4. 4 Tap Delete. It's an option in the pop-up menu.
5. 5 Tap Deletewhen prompted. The comment will be deleted.

Tips

• If you need to go to someone else's page to delete a post or comment, click on the username below the search bar, and then click on the same name on the next page.

Warnings

• Removing your name from a post will not remove the post itself.
