This article will show you how to log out of Google Chrome on both your computer and your smartphone. When you sign out of Chrome, changes you make to your favorites, settings, and Chrome data will no longer be synced to your Google account.
To step
Method 1 of 2: On your computer
Open Google Chrome
click on ⋮. This icon is located in the top right corner of the Chrome window. A selection menu will now appear.
click on Settings. That's almost at the bottom of the menu.
click on Log out. This option is under People.
click on Log out to confirm. This option will appear in a pop-up window. If you click on this, you are logged out of Google Chrome.
Method 2 of 2: On your smartphone
Open Chrome
click on ⋮. You can see this in the top right corner of your screen. When you do this a selection menu will unfold.
click on Settings. This option is almost at the bottom of the menu. Clicking on it will open the Settings page.
Click on your email address. That's at the top of the Settings page.
Scroll down and click Log out of Chrome. This option is at the bottom of the page.
click on Sign out if that appears. This will log you out of Google Chrome.
Tips
- If you log out of Google Chrome, your browser history will also no longer be synchronized.
Warnings
- Don't forget to sign out of Google Chrome if you used a public or shared computer.
