Yes ... no ... dead end ... nothing. This is how our brain sometimes feels when we have no creative ideas. Here are some tips to get your creative juices flowing again!

Steps

  1. 1 Become a situational visualizer. If you are tired of the overwhelming abundance of clothing, go shopping in between and reimagine the store you want to make. Perhaps you want a center podium that will be open to models explaining their own creations! Possibly fitting places where you can photograph outfits and post them online as part of a clothing base where you don't need to buy clothes!
  2. 2 Add some discomfort. Necessity for inventions is cunning. Ask Julia Roberts, a fashion designer who believes creativity is lost if you throw a ton of money on it, and cites a bunch of designers standing around and singing silly songs for inspiration. Or J.K. Rowling, the author of Harry Potter, who, in her speech to Harvard alumni, talked about her life failures before she finally found her creative confidence. This does not mean that you should deliberately ruin your life in the hope of providing some creativity, but you should also not wallow in sadness or "buy" it.
  3. 3 Make a mind map. Fleeting thoughts leave as quickly as they come. They are seemingly random and incoherent. A mind map is a map of your thoughts on a piece of paper, connected by lines and circles to show the relationship between concepts. Try planning your random thoughts and see where they come up!
  4. 4 Spend some time in nature. Take a walk to the beach or walk to the nearest green boulevard. The Power of the Great Nature can help you look back and look at the big picture and, with a positive physical state of mind, you know what? The quality of your thoughts will become much brighter.
  5. 5 Find out what inspires and intimidates you! How is it that IKEA ads can be so funny and creative and work so well? Study and analysis are the unwritten rules for everything (or most) of the magical that happens in the world, for all bright and ingenious individuals. See, you can even choose one of the tricks and apply it for your own purposes.
  6. 6 Try some creative thinking methods. TRIZ stands for The Theory of Inventive Problem Solving. Try to imagine a Cinderella story told with a different personality (perhaps a cockroach she was sweeping on stage?) Edward de Bono's hat mindset requires weighing a proposal from different angles, with an initial listing of ideas in one minute without discussion.
    • Intuition
    • Positive
    • Negative, alternatives to negative
    • big picture of the process / goal
    • Study Questions
    • Pick the best ideas!

Tips

  • There are no delusions in creative thinking. There are only different ideas that you can put together and choose the best based on them. Brainstorming and taking notes without error is one of the most important indulgences to resolve on your own so that you go over some of those 'crazy' ones and maybe you can find workable ideas and polish them thoroughly to perfection!
  • Two minds can be better than one. Or three, or four, or fifteen. Talk to other people, or get together with friends or family for advice.

Warnings

  • There is a difference between "creativity" and "dangerous stupidity." Make sure you know the difference, or at least ask someone for their opinion.
