Steps
1 Start by studying other people's work. This will help to sow creative ideas in your head for your own projects and understand what materials are used in jewelry. - Go shopping and see what products are on sale with labels from top designers. Take a closer look at the craftsmanship of their manufacture and determine what materials are used for mass production.
- Walk through the boutiques. In boutiques, you can find both mass-produced products and unique jewelry, of which there may be only one or two pieces on sale.
- Go to your local art workshop. This is the place where you can find the most unique products, because the craftsmen create one-of-a-kind designs.
2 Think about what kind of product you would like to create. Decide whether you will be fascinated by the creation of bracelets, rings, earrings, necklaces, brooches, pins, belt buckles, some other types of jewelry, or you will choose several types. 
3 Buy materials. These include: metal, precious stones, clay, natural things such as shells, wood or beads. 
4 Buy the equipment and tools you need to create your products. These include: wires, pliers, soldering tools, glue, buffers, ovens and braziers, etc. 
5 Find a buyer. Decide if you want to mass produce for sale in local stores, jewelry shows or art fairs and other events. 
6 Master the basics of entrepreneurship and create a business plan that lists the start-up costs. This procedure involves choosing a name and obtaining a tax number through the State Department of Revenue. Also, open a bank account strictly for your business. - If you intend to sell products overseas, obtain tax approvals from these states.
7 Choose a location or workplace to create your designer products. Determine if you can create your projects at home or if you want to rent a separate space for this. 
8 Find out the prices and determine how you are going to list your jewelry for sale.
9 Prepare your resume and assortment portfolio. This will narrow your initial specialization to your best specimens, and help you choose the right way to showcase them. 
10 Offer to complete an order for a customer or company. Let your work speak for itself, and if the agreement is mutually beneficial and successful, plan joint future projects.

- Save money on consumables by purchasing in bulk. You will have to provide your vendor with your tax ID to get the raw materials at the best prices.
