To really relax and enjoy the spirit of the festival, you will need to devote enough time and energy to the training camps.Of course, it is impossible to take everything with you, since you will be living in the fresh air, and the amount of things is limited by the amount of space in the car and backpack.

Although this article is written more for those who travel to the festival by car, most of the advice will come in handy for those who come there only with a backpack.

Steps

  1. 1 Find comfortable bags and a backpack. Consider the way you travel around the festival grounds and the distance from the campsite to the car. A backpack is best. The suitcase will be hard to carry far; besides, with it, you will cling to people passing by. Do not take a bag or suitcase with you on wheels: the wheels will not roll on the ground and will get bogged down in the mud.
    • A trolley or wheelbarrow can come in handy, but you should have enough room for it. The cart must be stable and its wheels must be large, especially if there is a lot of dirt at the festival.
    • Take with you not only a large bag, but also a small one to carry your things in when moving around the festival grounds. You can also keep things in large pockets, unless there are pickpockets at the festival. If the festival is famous for petty thieves, keep your money in special secret pockets.
    • Special CamelBak® water bags will come in handy at the festival. They have a special tube through which it is convenient to drink.
  2. 2 Take your sleeping bag and tent with you. There are many lightweight camping mattresses available. Choose one that does not need to be pumped with air - it will be much easier for you, and in addition, you will not have to take a pump with you. To cut down on the amount of stuff you have to put in your backpack, you might decide to sleep with your clothes on. Pillows seem like a luxury, but sleeping in a tent is much more pleasant with them. If the pillow does not fit in the backpack, it can be worn by tucking it between the backpack and your back. Look for special travel pillows that inflate and deflate easily (you don't even need a pump for that).
  3. 3 Wear suitable clothing. Clothes for the festival should be bright and original - show yourself! However, you should consider the weather conditions and be prepared for changes in weather. Do not wear jeans, as they will get wet and absorb dirt in the event of rain, which will make you very uncomfortable. Better to wear shorts or a short skirt and leggings or tights with rubber boots. Lightweight cycling and hiking pants are also fine (usually made from a fabric that can be washed and dried quickly and easily).
    • Do not put open sandals or sandals on your feet if you plan to stand near the stage - your feet will simply trample! Choose closed shoes that will protect your feet even if someone steps on them. However, flip flops or sandals will come in handy in the shower, as it is not recommended to go barefoot in a public shower.
    • Bring a raincoat, raincoat, or any other item that will protect you from rain if the weather forecast says rain is possible. You can use a large plastic garbage bag as a raincoat and won't take up much space in your backpack.
    • You might need a bandana. This is a versatile piece that can be worn wet in hot weather to cool your head, or sprayed and worn dry to ward off insects. The bandana will also keep hair out of your face, and it looks good too.
  4. 4 Place the water container in your backpack. It is best to put the water in a bottle or a roll-up bag, but a simple beverage bottle will do. To avoid storing water deep in your backpack, you can clip it to the side of your backpack.
  5. 5 Be prepared for different ways of cooking. The amount of food you will take with you will depend on: 1. budget; 2. the location of the tent relative to the stage; your desire to carry extra weight with you. Here's how you can eat at the festival without buying anything in the tents:
    • If you decide to prepare food, take a compact and safe stove, fuel for it, a frying pan, plastic bowls, plates and utensils with you. You can take a flask with you and pour boiling water into it in special places on the territory of the festival (you can pour boiling water over instant noodles and other similar food). A bottle opener or can opener will come in handy, but if you have an army knife, it will suffice.
    • Buy instant rice, noodles, and puree. It's best to buy these foods in plastic containers that you can brew them in so you don't have to carry a lot of utensils. You can buy instant soup.
    • It is convenient to take smoked sausage, cans of tuna, jerky, sausages, nuts, raisins, dried fruits, crispbreads, muesli bars, candies and chips in cardboard packaging (so as not to accidentally crush them) - these products will not spoil and they are not needed prepare.
    • If you want to drink hot drinks, put tea and coffee bags (best hidden in a ziplock bag), cocoa, milk powder, and sugar in your bag.
  6. 6 Do not take anything glass with you. There is always a lot of alcohol at festivals and it is sold everywhere, as is food, but if you want to bring your own drinks, the bottles must be plastic, as shards of broken glass can injure other people. For the same reason, all alcohol at festivals is sold either in plastic glasses or in aluminum cans. You can bring instant drinks (for example, "Cevita" or "Yuppi").
    • Don't forget to pack an empty bottle in your backpack to dilute the drink in.
    • Energy drinks can also be purchased.
    • Find out in advance if you can bring your own bottles to the festival.
  7. 7 Take a minimum of toiletries. Everyone smells the same at the festival, so don't be overly sensitive. Bring a toothbrush, toothpaste, comb, deodorant, and pads or tampons with you if you're a woman. This will be enough for you - leave the face cream and shaving gel at home. It can be a good idea to fold a small towel in case you are going to shower at the campsite.
    • Be sure to bring sunscreen and insect repellent. Heat can melt the cream, so wrap it in newspaper and store it in the shade.
    • Wet wipes can be used to wipe not only hands and body, but also kitchen utensils. Try to find multiple uses for all things.
    • Take the plaster with you (in case of calluses), pills for headaches and sore throats, and any other medications you may need.
    • Take earplugs. They come in handy if you want to listen to some very loud band perform or sleep.
  8. 8 Assemble a set for repairing clothes and things. This kit will help you deal with tears, cuts and breakages quickly and easily. Include duct tape, safety pins, bandage, rope, and sturdy trash bags. Garbage bags have many uses: they can sit on them, they can be made into raincoats, they can be used to fold wet and dirty clothes and shoes.
    • It is important not to forget toilet paper, an army knife, a lighter, a torch (it is especially convenient to use folding flashlights), a portable phone charger (a solar-powered device is ideal), zip bags (in order to prevent your phone, passport, etc.) from getting wet. important things), a camera (with a spare battery and memory card) and money in small bills (often there is no change at festivals).
  9. 9 Take whatever things you want, if there is room for them. Depending on the festival, the following things may come in handy:
    • Flags, streamers, posters
    • Costumes, face paint, wigs, jewelry, cosmetics, temporary tattoos
    • Magazine or book, deck of cards, games
    • Glowing sticks
    • Binoculars
    • Picnic basket
    • Umbrella
    • Cigarettes (or decide it's time to quit smoking!)
    • Condoms
    • Cooling package
    • Addresses of friends to send postcards from the festival
  10. 10 Help the children pack up if you take them with you. Children love festivals, but packing their bags is more difficult because they need to be comfortable and cozy there. It is convenient to transport children in a trailer to a bicycle, but do not forget to fasten a lock on it so that passers-by do not decide to take it with them. Use a marker to write your phone number on the baby's arm, as well as clothing and ear muffs in case it gets very loud and the baby wants to sleep. Explain to your child what to do and where to go if he gets lost. Think over everything to the smallest detail.
    • Take with you things that you can keep your children busy with. They should be quiet, with batteries and lots of small parts. Bubbles, water guns, etc. will do.
    • Make sure your child has his own camera (you can buy a disposable film camera for him), a favorite toy (with a sign with a name, phone or email address in case it gets lost) and a funny costume.
    • Take sweets for the kids with you.
  11. 11 Prepare for your trip to the festival. You will need tickets, a map, a navigator and a roadside assistance business card. If you have a small car, buy roof racks and roof racks. You will need cables to secure your tent and other luggage from above.
    • Don't forget to bring your sunglasses, a car charger for your phone, and CDs from the bands that will be playing at the festival - this will put you in the mood you want.
    • If you make stops along the way, take packed sugar, pepper, salt, napkins, toothpicks, etc. with you at gas stations.
    • When you park near the campsite, write down the number of the parking space, because you will forget it as soon as you leave the car. If the spots are not numbered, attach an empty bottle to the antenna or tie a flag so that the machine can be seen from afar.
  12. 12 When you get back to your car after the festival ends, you will be tired, hungry, freezing and possibly soaked through. Leave a bag with warm comfortable clothes, soft socks, food, drinks and a towel in the car. Put on some quiet music and your journey home will give you many pleasant minutes, especially if it is cold and wet outside.

Tips

  • There is always a lot of dirt at festivals. Be prepared for the machine to slip, so place the towing cable on top of the bags in case the machine has to be pulled out of the mud.

Warnings

  • If you have children with you at the festival, do not drink alcohol in front of them and make sure that they do not see what children are not supposed to see (scenes of drinking alcohol, sex, etc.). Do not leave children unattended.
