1 Launch Google Chrome browser . It is the only browser that can use Print to remove the copyright password for a PDF file.

2 Open Google Drive. Go to https://drive.google.com/drive/ in your browser. If you are already signed in to your Google Account, your Google Drive page will open.

• If you haven't logged in yet, click Go to Drive, and then enter your email address and password.

3 Drag the PDF to Google Drive. The document will be saved to Disk.

• Alternatively, you can click Create (in the upper-right corner of Drive)> Upload Files, select the PDF document you want, and then click OK.

4 Double-click the PDF document in Drive. The document will open in a browser window.

• If the document is protected by a user password, enter it and then click Submit to open the document.

5 Open the Print window. To do this, click Ctrl+P (Windows) or ⌘ Command+P (Mac).

6 Click Change. You will find this option in the Destination section on the left side of the browser window. A menu will open

7 Click Save as PDF. You will find this option in the Local Options section of the Select Destination window.

8 Click on the blue Save button. You will find it in the upper left corner of the screen. The PDF document will be downloaded to your computer without a password; now this document can be printed, edited and copied.

• You may need to select a folder to download the document.

Method 2 of 3: Using Soda PDF (for custom password)

1. 1 Open the Soda PDF website. Go to this page on your computer's web browser.
2. 2 Click on select a file. It's a green button on the right side of the page. An Explorer (Windows) or Finder (Mac) window opens.
3. 3 Select a PDF document. In the window that opens, navigate to the folder with the PDF file and then click on it to select.
4. 4 Click on Open. It's in the lower-right corner of the window. The PDF document is uploaded to the Soda PDF service website.
5. 5 Enter the user password for the document. Do this in the text box that appears.
   • If you do not know this password, you will not be able to remove the protection.
6. 6 Click on Unblock. This green button is below the password text box. The password will be removed.
7. 7 Click on View and download in browser. This button is on the right side of the page. The PDF document will be downloaded to your computer without a password.
   • You may need to select a folder to download the document.

Method 3 of 3: Using Adobe Acrobat (for custom password)

1. 1 Start Adobe Acrobat Pro. This is the paid version of Adobe Acrobat. Please be aware that you cannot remove the password in Adobe Acrobat Reader.
2. 2 Open the File menu. You will find it in the upper left corner of the screen.
   • If the Recently Viewed tab is active, go to it and search for the PDF document you want.
3. 3 Click Open. Skip this step if you found the document in the Recently Viewed tab.
4. 4 Double click on the PDF document. It will open in Adobe Acrobat Pro.
   • You may need to open the document folder first (for example, the Documents folder).
5. 5 Enter a custom password for the document, and then click OK.
   • If you do not know this password, you will not be able to remove the protection.
6. 6 Click on the padlock icon. You will find it on the left under the Home tab.
7. 7 Click Permission Details. You will find this link in the Security Settings section.
8. 8 Open the menu next to the Protection method option. It should display Password Protect.
9. 9 Click No Protection. You will find this option in the menu.
10. 10 Enter the password for the document again, and then double-click OK. If you entered the password correctly, it will be deleted.
