1 Remove the cover. If your Samsung Galaxy smartphone is clad in a case, then it must be removed before proceeding.

2 Turn off the power of the smartphone. Hold down the lock key, select Shutdown in the pop-up menu and then confirm your choice.

If you remove the cover while the phone is on, there is a risk of short circuit or electric shock.

3 Remove the SIM and SD cards. This step is not necessary, but it is recommended that you remove the cards to avoid heat damage.

Use the special accessory to remove the SIM card and insert the end into the special hole on the left side of the top edge of the phone. Gently pull out the SIM and micro-SD card tray.

4 Place your phone face down on a soft surface. This precaution will help protect the screen from scratches while removing the cover.

For example, you can place a towel or other soft pad under the screen.

5 Apply heat to the back of your Samsung Galaxy. The required heat exposure time is two minutes. It is best to use a hair dryer or blower, but do not heat one spot for more than a second. This procedure will warm up and loosen the adhesive that holds the back cover of the Samsung Galaxy smartphone to the inner frame of the device.

9 Pry up the back cover on the top edge and remove it from the device. After this action, the entire back cover can be removed, since now it was held only by a strip of glue on the upper edge.

You can warm up the glue again and run the separator along the top edge to simplify the task.
Place the back cover of your smartphone in a warm and dry place to avoid damaging the inside of the device when you reinstall the cover.

5 Insert your fingernail into the slot. You can also use a small flat-head screwdriver, guitar pick, or similar thin object. The main thing is to proceed with caution.
6 Gently pry the back cover towards you. It should separate from the phone body.
7 Remove the cover of the smartphone. Hold the cover firmly with your hand and completely separate it from the device body, gaining access to the battery and SIM card.
- Place the back cover of your smartphone in a warm and dry place to avoid damaging the inside of the device when you reinstall the cover.

Tips

On a Samsung Galaxy tablet, you need to remove the protective caps from the screws on the back, and then use a screwdriver to remove the screws that hold the back cover of the tablet.
