The YouTube iPhone app is a fast and easy way to access YouTube videos without using the Safari browser. Follow these steps to access YouTube on your iPhone.

Method 1 of 2: Use the YouTube iPhone app

1. 1 Download the YouTube app.
   • Open the App Store and enter "YouTube" in the search box.
   • Find the "YouTube by Google.Inc" app and click the "Install" button. Your app should start loading immediately.
2. 2 Once the app has been downloaded, launch YouTube.
   • Click on the "YouTube" icon on your iPhone's home screen. The app will direct you to the YouTube home page.
   • Once you have entered the YouTube home page, find the Search button. The Search button may look like a magnifying glass icon in the upper right corner of the screen. Click this symbol to start your search.
3. 3 Start your search.
   • Use the keyboard to enter your search criteria. It can be either specific or general keywords to find any videos on the YouTube site.
   • Click the Search button in the upper right corner of your keyboard. The search results should appear immediately.
4. 4 Select a video.
   • Now that you are on the Search Results page, highlight the icon that says the Video result that matches your search criteria. To access the video, click on the video icon. After that, the accompanying information will be displayed.
   • To start playing a video, click on the "Play" icon on the selected video. After you have selected the desired video clip and clicked "Play", the video should start playing.
5. 5 Watch the video.
   • Tap the screen while the video is playing. You will get access to YouTube and iPhone video tools.
   • Click the button with four diagonal lines in the lower right corner of the video to make the video full screen.
   • Tools such as Rewind and Fast Rewind let you watch videos at your own pace and are placed next to the Play symbol.
6. 6 Set up your YouTube account. iPhone also allows you to create your own YouTube video toolbars through the Edit function. This feature can be found by clicking on the "Details" icon at the top of the screen.

Method 2 of 2: Use the mobile Safari browser

1. 1 Open your Safari browser and go to YouTube. Enter "www.youtube.com" in the search bar.
   • Select the first search result, it should be YouTube.
   • Click on the magnifying glass in the upper right corner of the page to start your search.
2. 2 Find the video you want to watch using keywords.
3. 3 Select a video.

Tips

• Generally, for searching YouTube videos, Wi-Fi works better.
• When using EDGE, instead of seeing the video, you are told that you cannot connect to the server, try holding the iPhone without touching the antenna (black bottom on the back of the phone) to avoid interrupting the signal.
