Hiding rows is necessary to make it easier to work with the table, especially if it is very large. Hidden rows do not clutter the worksheet, but they affect formulas. You can easily hide and show rows in any version of Excel.

Method 1 of 2: How to hide specific lines

1. 1 Highlight the lines you want to hide. To do this, hold down the Ctrl key and select the required lines with the mouse.
2. 2 Right-click on the selected lines (any line number) and select "Hide" from the menu. The lines will be hidden.
3. 3 Display the lines. To display lines, select the line before and the line after the hidden lines. For example, highlight line 4 and line 8 if lines 5-7 are hidden.
   • Right click on the selected lines.
   • Select "Display" from the menu.

Method 2 of 2: How to hide a group of rows

1. 1 Create a row group. In Excel 2013, you can create a group of rows to easily hide or show them.
   • Select the rows you want to group and go to the Data tab.
   • In the "Structure" section, click "Group".
2. 2 Hide the row group. To the left of the grouped rows, click the "-" icon. The row group will be hidden (the icon will change to "+").
3. 3 Display a group of lines. To do this, click on the "+" sign (to the left of the line numbers).
