1 Create a bud from a dollar bill. Fold the first bill in half, and then fold the top corners as shown. Just don't wrap both sides of the bill in one direction.
  • Fold one edge of the folded bill inward and the other edge outward. Bends will help shape the bud.
  • Hold the edges of the bill with your fingertips to get the desired bending angle. Use your thumb, forefinger, and middle finger to shape the bill to the desired shape.
  • 2 Make rose petals. Fold the bill in half obliquely (it should look like the letter "V"). Then fold the edges.
    • The bill should not be folded exactly in half, but at an angle (so that it is in the shape of the letter "V"). In this case, you should be able to see the reverse side of the folded bill.
    • Use your fingertips to wrap the bottom of the bill with the edges inward. Use the same technique you used to create the curls on your bud.
    • Fold the top of the bill with the edges out. Make sure you don't curl too much. A thin curl would be fine.

  • 3 Attach the bud to the stem. Pass a wire or brush rod through the center of the dollar bill you are shaping the bud from. This will help shape your flower.
    • Open the bud bill and place the wire inside its bend. Make sure the wire is positioned on both sides so that the bud is in the middle.
    • Bend the wire gently so that the bud is tightly clamped in the middle. You should run the wire through the bud so that it is in the middle of the wire so you can fold it in half.
    • Weave the ends of the wire together to connect the two parts into one (this is how the stem is formed). Grasp the bud, and then rotate to fully connect the ends of the wire.
    • Form a curl to shape the bud. Pass your finger between the layers of the finished bud and try to fold the bills so that the bud looks more realistic.
  • 4 Add petals. Use the same technique that was used to make the bud. Take individual pieces of wire or wire brushes to wrap around the petals of the bills. Make sure the wire is the same length you used for the bud.
    • Use a special wire or brush to run it inside each petal. Wire the petals in the same way as the bud, starting at the base of the petal and bending the wire downward.
    • Using your fingers, spread the petals to make them look more like real rose petals. Wrap the outer edges - trying to turn each bill into a unique petal (like a real rose).
  • 5 Form a rose. Hold the bud in one hand, spreading the petals around it. The final appearance of the flower will depend on how close the flower petals are to each other. Shape and reshape the flower until it resembles a rose.
    • Connect all the stems of the flower together so that they form one large stem. Hold the top of the flower and twist the wires downward until you reach the end.
    • If you did not use a brush, wrap floral tape around the stem, cutting the stem to an appropriate length using a pair of wire cutters (if necessary). Start wrapping the flower stem around the wire at the top of the flower and work your way down.
  • 6 Attach the artificial leaves to the stem with a hot glue gun. Glue the leaves just like they grow on a real flower to make them look natural.
  • 7 Ready!
  • Tips

    • For long roses, make sure the wire is several inches (cm) long
    • Better to use a shorter wire and use a dollar bill rose as a substitute for gift wrapping decoration.

    What do you need

    • 7 new banknotes of any denomination. If you want to get really creative with the process, use the US currency for the green parts of the flower and a different currency for the rose itself.
    • Floral ribbon
    • Artificial rose leaves
    • Special wire
