After playing the guitar for a long time, your fingers start to ache, don't they? This article is about how to make them solid.
Steps
- 1 Play more.
- 2 When you start playing chords, your fingers may start to ache. This is fine.
- 3 After a lot of practice, your fingers will lose sensitivity, and you can play as much as you want.
- 4 Purchase a guitar finger trainer such as the Gripmaster Hand Strengthener. You can strengthen your fingers even while watching TV!
Tips
- Don't hit the strings too hard, no more and no less than you need to get a clean tone. Calluses will build up over time. Pressing too hard on the strings will develop poor, constrained technique that will prevent you from playing fast, but worse, can cause a ligament injury that will keep you from playing for a while.
- Treat your fingers with rubbing alcohol if you break a corn.
- If you want to learn very quickly, then it is better to start with an acoustic guitar, and then switch to an electric one and start playing in a band. This will make it easier to learn and take less time.
- Use QuickCallus® or equivalent to treat dropsy.
- Liquid Skin® is used by cellists and is a great help to them, which means it will work well for guitarists too.
Warnings
- Approach the learning process with your head. If your fingers hurt so badly and you can't touch the guitar, give them time to heal.
