Facial masks are a great way to deal with various skin problems such as acne and dryness. To make a natural homemade face mask, simply grab your favorite products and use them for cosmetic purposes. The composition of the mask will depend on what ingredients you have in your kitchen cabinet and refrigerator, so there is no limit to the options. Find out what your skin needs and create an all-natural mask to get rid of problem areas!

Steps

Method 1 of 3: Moisturize and Exfoliate Your Skin

  1. 1 Mix avocado and honey to moisturize dry skin. Cut the avocado in half and remove the center pit.Spoon the pulp out of the avocado half and place the pulp in a small bowl along with 1 tablespoon (15 ml) honey and a handful of oatmeal. Mash and stir all the ingredients until a paste forms, then rub it into your face with your fingertips.
    • Apply the mixture to the driest areas of your face first. Continue spreading the avocado paste until you have covered the entire surface of your face.
    • Leave the mask on for at least 10 minutes and then rinse it off with water.
  2. 2 Use lemon and olive oil to exfoliate and moisturize your skin at the same time. Kill two birds with one stone by mixing 1 lemon juice with ¼ cup (60 ml) olive oil in a small bowl. Stir the ingredients thoroughly until smooth before applying the mixture to your face. Apply the mask piece by piece with your fingertips. Rub the mixture in small, circular motions to enhance the exfoliation process.
    • Olive oil can be substituted for almond oil.
    • Let the oil mixture soak into your skin for 10-20 minutes, then wash it off with cool water.
  3. 3 Exfoliate dead skin with a mixture of brown sugar and coconut oil. Mix 2 tablespoons (25 grams) of brown sugar with 2 tablespoons (30 ml) of coconut oil and mix thoroughly. Dip your fingertips into the mixture and apply the mask to your face. Apply it in a circular motion to exfoliate any dead skin cells from your face. For maximum effect, leave the mask on for a few minutes and then rinse it off with warm water.
    • This mask is especially useful for people with dry skin.

Method 2 of 3: Make Your Skin Plump and Smooth

  1. 1 Add orange juice to mashed banana for a radiant complexion. Peel the banana and cut it in half. Place one half of a banana in a small bowl and mash it with a fork, then add 1 tablespoon (15 ml) of honey and orange juice. Apply the mixture directly to your face with your fingers, covering all areas of the skin. Leave the mask on your face for about 15 minutes and then wash it off with warm running water.
    • Don't worry if the mask feels lumpy, as this is inevitable when working with bananas.
    • The best thing about this mask is that it works great for all skin types.
  2. 2 Use papaya and honey to even out your skin tone. To do this, combine 2 tablespoons (30 ml) of honey and ½ cup (120 g) of mashed papaya in a small bowl. Stir until the mixture is smooth enough to easily apply to your face. Scoop up some of the mixture with your fingertips and rub it all over your face. After you finish applying the mask, leave it on for 15-20 minutes and then rinse it off with cool water.
    • Be sure to apply the mixture to dark spots on your face.
  3. 3 Mix yogurt and honey for smoother skin. Mix 1 tablespoon (15 ml) plain plain yogurt with 1 tablespoon (15 ml) honey and 1 tablespoon (6 g) turmeric. Mix the ingredients thoroughly until smooth. Scoop up a small amount of the mask with your fingertips and gently spread it over the skin, covering all areas of the face. You can safely leave the mask for 10–20 minutes, and then rinse with cool water.
    • This mask is perfect for those looking for smoother and softer skin.

Use natural yogurt for its anti-inflammatory benefits. Some dairy products, such as milk, increase inflammation, but natural yogurt contains prebiotics and probiotics, making it anti-inflammatory.Mix yogurt with one teaspoon of honey, spread the mixture over your face and leave for 10-15 minutes, then rinse. You can use yogurt on a sunburn area to relieve itching or inflammation.

Method 3 of 3: Make your skin softer and cleaner

  1. 1 Soften your skin with a strawberry yogurt mask. Remove the sepals from 4-5 ripe strawberries and mash them in a bowl. Add 3 tablespoons (21 g) of ground almond powder and 2 tablespoons (30 ml) of plain yogurt to a bowl. Mix the ingredients thoroughly with a spoon. Apply the mask all over the face with your fingertips and leave it on for at least 10 minutes, then rinse.
    • After preparing this face mask, be sure to use it throughout the day, otherwise the ingredients may go bad. If you plan to apply the mixture later, be sure to refrigerate it.
  2. 2 Combine orange juice and egg whites to tighten pores. Separate the egg whites from the yolks and pour into a small bowl. Add 1 teaspoon (5 ml) orange juice and ½ teaspoon (1 g) turmeric powder. Whisk the egg whites, juice, and turmeric together until they form a thin mixture. Using your fingertips, spread a generous amount of the mixture all over your face. Leave the mask on for 15 minutes and then wash it off with cold water.
    • Turmeric is beneficial because it helps lighten uneven areas of the skin.
  3. 3 Mix cucumber and yogurt to soften the skin. Peel the cucumber and cut into thin, round slices. Then place these slices in a blender along with 2 tablespoons (30 ml) of plain white yogurt. Mix the ingredients until smooth, then pour into a smaller bowl to make it easier to apply the mixture. Using your fingertips, spread the mask over the entire surface of the face and leave it on for at least 15 minutes, and then rinse off with cold water.
    • Refrigerate leftover mixture in an airtight container. It can be stored for up to one week!
  4. 4 Treat pimples with a honey and chamomile mask. Use 2 filter bags to brew chamomile tea. After the tea has cooled, pour 3 tablespoons (35 ml) of tea into a small bowl and add 1 tablespoon (15 ml) of raw honey and 1 teaspoon (6 grams) of dry yeast (food grade). Stir the ingredients until the mixture is thick enough to apply to your face. Rub it into your face with your fingertips, then let it soak for about 20 minutes. When you're ready to remove the mask, wash it off with cool water.
    • If you prefer a spicier option, mix 2 tablespoons (30 ml) of honey with 1 teaspoon (3 grams) of cinnamon.
