Nothing will make you feel more confident than glowing, radiant skin. Good skin will help you look younger and healthier, regardless of age or physical condition. In addition, the many ways to treat your skin are also great opportunities to pamper yourself. So go ahead - make your skin glow. You deserve to look and feel incredible.

Steps

Method 1 of 4: Daily Facial Care

  1. 1 Exfoliate your face gently. Exfoliation removes dead skin cells, impurities and excess sebum, and prepares the skin for cleansing and toning.
    • After exfoliating, apply a cleanser to the skin. Massage gently in circular motions for several minutes to improve circulation, remove makeup and remove excess sebum.
    • Many cleansers have exfoliating particles to accomplish two tasks at the same time. Avoid products with drying ingredients such as deodorants, colors, and fragrances. Also, do not use products marked "antibacterial" on the label.
  2. 2 Pour some tonic onto a cotton pad. Wipe your face and remove any remaining dirt.
  3. 3 Apply a good moisturizer with natural oils like rosemary or almond. Massage the product into your skin.
    • Use a moisturizer with an SPF of at least 15 to prevent premature aging from sun exposure.
    • Look for a moisturizer that contains moisturizers such as glycerin, propylene glycol, or urea. Moisturizers attract water when you apply them to your skin, making your skin more hydrated.
    • Try an alpha hydroxy acid (AHA) moisturizer. These acids help to improve the turnover of dead skin cells, which leads to a reduction in dryness, acne, wrinkles and age spots.
    • Use moisturizers according to the season. In the summer, use a light product, and in the winter something thicker and fatter.
  4. 4 Use products from the same manufacturer. Choose the same brand of cleansers, toners, and moisturizers. This is better for the skin, since different products do not always interact well with each other.

Method 2 of 4: Caring for the rest of the body

  1. 1 Don't shower too long, and remember that it shouldn't be too hot. Of course, it perfectly improves well-being, but when you shower, the moisture it needs is removed from the skin. Especially in winter, take a warm shower for no more than 10 minutes.
  2. 2 Apply cleansers to your neck and chest. These areas are just as vulnerable to wrinkles, dryness and signs of aging as the face. After cleansing, massage a facial moisturizer into your skin. You can also apply masks to these areas once a month.
  3. 3 Do not use heavy-smelling soaps. Instead, switch to a soap that contains fat, such as Dove, Neutrogena, or Oilatum. The oil keeps the skin hydrated even after you shower.
  4. 4 Apply a thick, moisturizing cream to hands and feet before bed. Then wear cloth gloves on your hands and socks on your feet so that the cream properly moisturizes your hands and feet.
  5. 5 Always use a washcloth when washing your body. This will help rid the skin of dead skin cells and ingrown hairs. To make your skin even smoother, you can apply a few drops of a cleanser containing alpha hydroxy acids (AHAs) to a washcloth.
    • If you use a loofah washcloth, be sure to clean it thoroughly after every shower or bath to keep bacteria free.
  6. 6 Apply the powder to areas of your body where skin meets skin. You will find these areas under the breasts, under the armpits, and on the inner thighs. The powder prevents chafing, bacterial growth and itching.

Method 3 of 4: Diet changes and supplementation

  1. 1 Eat lots of fruits and vegetables. They will provide your body with the necessary amount of vitamins and minerals, so that your skin will begin to glow.
    • Mushrooms are especially useful for the skin.
  2. 2 Eat soy milk or take soy isoflavones. If your choice is a dietary supplement, consume 160 milligrams a day. Soy proteins are very important for the production of collagen and its protection from free radical damage.
  3. 3 Try cocoa. Cocoa is a wonderful remedy for the skin. Mix it with other products or use it on its own in a crushed form.
  4. 4 Take rose hips. These supplements are rich in vitamin C and help keep skin looking youthful.
  5. 5 Give preference to foods rich in vitamins. The body absorbs nutrients better from food and drinks. Many multivitamins provide limited benefits at best. However, if you do decide to take a supplement, look for vitamins that contain 100 percent of the RDA for Vitamins A, C, and Vitamin B. Also, look for foods rich in these vitamins:
    • vitamin A: carrots, sweet potatoes, spinach and fortified cereals;
    • vitamin C: red and green peppers, oranges, broccoli, strawberries, kiwi;
    • B vitamins: Lean meat, fish, fortified soybeans, and whole grains.
  6. 6 Eat garlic. Garlic has a number of potential skin benefits. Skin cells will live longer and look younger. Garlic can also help prevent the growth of skin cancer cells.
  7. 7 Add omega-3 fatty acids to your diet. Fatty fish like salmon and mackerel are good sources of omega-3s. You can also get omega-3s from walnuts and olive oil.
  8. 8 Drink tea. Tea is high in antioxidants that fight free radicals that damage your skin. According to research, people who drink tea are less likely to develop squamous cell skin cancer.
  9. 9 Drink plenty of water. Water maintains skin moisture and flushes toxins from the body. The exact amount of water depends on your specific needs. The general rule of thumb is that men should drink 15.5 glasses of water per day (3.7 liters), and women should drink 11.5 glasses.

Method 4 of 4: Unverified home remedies

  1. 1 Lubricate dry areas of skin with olive oil, including your face, hands, elbows, and knees. Do this in a circular motion.
  2. 2 Make your own homemade tonic.
    • Use witch hazel, mint, and sage as a facial toner. In a bottle or jar, combine 120 ml witch hazel and 1 teaspoon each of chopped mint and sage leaves. Infuse the mixture for 3 days and then apply to the face after using the cleanser.
    • Boil 1 cup water and add 1 tablespoon of mint, hyssop, yarrow, or sage leaves. Leave the mixture for half an hour, then strain and apply on your face.
  3. 3 Take a nourishing bath. Try these supplements to relieve itchy, dry skin:
    • 1 cup milk powder - for dry or irritated skin;
    • 2 cups Epsom salts (take a salt bath and wipe rough skin)
    • 4-5 tablespoons of baking soda - for exfoliation.
  4. 4 Wrap ice in a towel and apply to dry, itchy skin. Ice will improve blood circulation in this area and bring in moisture. Be careful not to overcool your skin.
  5. 5 Use aloe vera on very dry skin. You can buy aloe vera gel or cut off a leaf from the plant and rub the gel into your skin.
  6. 6 Use grapefruit for hardened elbow skin. Exfoliate your skin while showering. Then cut the grapefruit in half. Place your elbows in the grapefruit halves and hold for 15 minutes. The acid will make the skin soft.
  7. 7 Make an oatmeal scrub. This scrub can be used on the face, neck or body to get rid of dead skin cells.
    • Grind the oatmeal in a food processor or coffee grinder. You will need 1/2 cup of chopped oatmeal.
    • Add 1/3 cup crushed sunflower seeds, 1/2 teaspoon mint leaves, and 4 tablespoons almond flour. Mix thoroughly.
    • Mix 2 teaspoons of oatmeal with a little heavy cream for the consistency of a face scrub. Apply to face, neck and chest and rinse thoroughly.
  8. 8 Add 1 teaspoon of grape seed oil to the tonic bottle. This oil counteracts aging by helping skin cells to repair themselves.
  9. 9 Spray water with essential oils on your skin. In a small spray bottle, mix a few drops of bergamot, rose, or sandalwood oil with a little water. Spray onto skin, eyes closed, whenever it gets dry.
  10. 10 Make a mask out of what you have in your kitchen. Here are some ideas:
    • Mix 1 tablespoon of yogurt with a few drops of sesame oil. Apply the mixture to your face, neck and upper chest and leave it on for 15 minutes.
    • Mash a banana and add a small amount of honey. Apply the mixture to your skin for 15 minutes.
    • Combine 2 tablespoons avocado puree, 1/4 cup whipped cream, 1/2 teaspoon olive oil, and 1 teaspoon calendula petals. Apply the mixture to your face for 15 minutes, then rinse.
    • Peel the mango and purée. Apply to face and leave for a few minutes to cleanse skin and tighten pores. Then wash it off.
    • Bring water to a boil in a saucepan. Add the apple and cook until tender. Mash an apple and add 1 teaspoon of lemon juice and 1 teaspoon of peppermint leaves. Apply the mixture to your face and wash off after 5 minutes.
    • Mix the egg. Apply it all over your face and leave it on until it starts to harden. If you have oily skin, use an egg white rather than a whole egg.

Tips

  • Exercise helps improve blood circulation, making the skin more radiant.
  • Get plenty of sleep. If necessary, hang curtains to prevent sunlight from entering the room through the windows. Your body regenerates skin while you sleep, so don't neglect it.
  • Try this mask: mix a little milk with one teaspoon of honey and lemon juice. Apply to skin for 30 minutes.
  • Apply aloe vera gel to your skin at night and rinse off in the morning.
  • To check for dryness, gently scratch an arm or leg with your fingernail. If a white mark remains, the skin is too dry.
  • Drink plenty of water. It promotes healthy hair growth as well as getting rid of blemishes and making the skin glow.
  • Water also removes excess oil from the skin, so the skin will not be oily.
  • Work hard. Sweat during exercise cleanses the skin of toxins, improves blood circulation and gives the skin a healthy glow.Use sunscreen if you are outdoors.
  • Include a humidifier (not a vaporizer) in your bedroom during winter. It is a good remedy for preventing dry skin.
  • Use castor oil - it is thicker and leaves the skin radiant and vibrant.
  • Massage with oil twice a month can also help.

Warnings

  • Avoid using scented lotions or perfumes if you plan on spending the day in the sun. If you use these products on your skin, your tan will be blotchy.
  • Try not to touch your face or rub your eyes, so as not to bring germs to delicate skin and damage it.
  • To avoid damage to your skin, do not smoke, sunbathe, or go to tanning salons. Also, drink no more than 1 serving of alcohol a day, as excessive alcohol consumption increases the number of facial blood vessels in your face, which gives your face an unnaturally red color.
