  • Iron

Circles cutting method

  • Thin paper
  • Pencil
  • 3-inch (7.5 cm) circle.
  • Scissors
  • Large sewing needle
  • Fabric marker
  • Smoking pipe cleaner

Toilet paper method

  • 15-25 squares of toilet paper
  • 1 small piece of corrugated paper
  • Glue
  • Fishing line or thread
  • Scissors

Steps

Method 1 of 3: Accordion folding

  1. 1 Take a few sheets of tissue paper. Use at least 5 sheets, but the more paper, the fuller the flower will be. The leaves can be the same color or different, depending on what kind of flower you want to get.
  2. 2 Fold tissue paper around the edges. You will be working with a square or rectangular shape.
  3. 3 Fold the tissue paper into an accordion or fan. The width of the stripes should be between one and one and a half inches (2.5-3.8 cm).
  4. 4 Fold the paper tightly. If necessary, place a thin towel on top and press down, you can iron it to create folds.
  5. 5 Fold folded paper in half. Fix the pipe cleaner in the center and tighten. This will serve as the stem of the flower.
  6. 6 Cut the edges of the paper. Use scissors to round the edges of the folded paper.
  7. 7 Unfold each side of the paper. Pull each leaf separately from the center of the flower. Repeat until all sheets have been pulled out.
  8. 8 Ready. Pull each leaf carefully from the center of the flower.

Method 2 of 3: Cutting the circles

  1. 1 Take a layer of 12 sheets of tissue paper. The sheets can be folded to make 48 pieces, this will save time.
  2. 2 Draw 3 inch (7.5cm) circles on the paper. Cut them out. You should have 48 paper circles. Note: the less paper you use, the smaller the flower.
  3. 3 Fold 12 paper circles. Secure them with a paper clip and poke the two holes in the center with a large sewing needle, for example.
  4. 4 Slide the pipe cleaner through the holes. Pass through one hole and out of the other, a loop is formed that fixes the paper. The chimney sweeper will also serve as a stem.
  5. 5 Separate the sheets of tissue paper. Gently pull each leaf away from the center of the flower and shape them.

Method 3 of 3: Toilet paper

  1. 1 Pull the toilet paper so that you get 15-25 squares, tear it off the roll, but do not disconnect the squares.
  2. 2 Fold the toilet paper into an accordion or fan. The stripes should be one inch (2.5cm) wide.
  3. 3 Secure the folded paper in the middle with string or thread.
  4. 4 Fan the folded edges from the center, carefully twist each side towards the center of the flower.
  5. 5 Fold a piece of green crepe paper with a butterfly. Glue to the back of the flower for the leaves.
  6. 6 Ready.

Tips

  • To scent paper flowers, spray perfume or drip with essential oil in the center.
  • For the chamomile effect, in turn, use yellow paper in the center and white paper around the edges.
  • Before collecting the sheets of carnation, paint around the paper with a felt marker. This will give the flower a natural look.
  • The toilet paper method is the easiest one available even for small children.
  • The more paper you use, the thicker the flower will be.

Warnings

  • Supervise children when using scissors, sewing needles, and iron.
