If you are making your own lip balm, you also need a container to store it. While you can buy a jar from a pharmacy, you can also make one quickly and easily at home.
Steps
1 Wash the bottle well. Cut off the top. Cut just below the lid, around the neck (see illustration).
- Make sure the bottle is dry before you do anything with it.
2 Make the base of the jar. Squeeze a small amount of glue onto the cut part. Attach this piece to a piece of hard plastic. This plastic will hold your balm inside the container. Wait for the glue to dry completely.
- Do not cut the plastic base around the jar yet.
3 Wait 10-15 minutes for the bottom to dry. Check dryness with your fingers. The plastic base must not protrude and there must be no holes between it and the top.
- If you notice bumps or holes, add more glue.
4 Cut off the plastic bottom. Just follow the shape of the bottle cap, trying to cut as close to the edge as possible. Your jar now has a bottom.
5 Open the cover. Put your homemade lip gloss (or petroleum jelly) in a jar.
6 Ready.
Tips
- Mark the contents and date of manufacture on the jar.
Warnings
- Be careful when trimming the bottom as the plastic is slippery.
What do you need
