This article will show you how to allow iPhone to use custom apps that were not downloaded from the App Store.
Steps
Part 1 of 2: Installing an untrusted application
1 Download and install an unreliable app. Developers create custom or enterprise applications for exclusive use within an organization, such as a customer management application or an Internet download application.
2 Run the application. The warning "Untrusted Enterprise Developer" should appear on the screen.
- Apps downloaded from the App Store are automatically trusted.
3 Click on "Cancel".
Part 2 of 2: How to Allow Access to a Custom Application
1 Launch the Settings app. The application icon looks like a gray gear (⚙️) and is located on the desktop.
2 Click on General. It's next to a gray gear icon (⚙️) in one of the sections at the top of the menu.
3 Click on Profiles. This submenu may also be called Profiles and Device Management.
- This submenu will not appear on your phone until you download and try to launch the untrusted application.
4 Click on the name of the application developer in the "Enterprise Application" section.
5 Click on Trust "[Developer Name]" at the top of the screen.
6 Click on Allow to allow the device to run this app, as well as other downloaded and installed apps from this developer.
