The glaze can be made in a variety of ways, depending on the desired texture, taste and style. And then you will find out how.
Steps
Method 1 of 6: Powdered Sugar Frosting
- 1 Pour one cup of powdered sugar into a small bowl.
- 2 Add 1-3 tablespoons of milk, water, or orange juice. You can also use heavy cream. Keep in mind that the more liquid you add, the thinner your frosting will be.
- 3 Stir with a spoon.
- 4 Try the consistency. Make sure it's not too runny or too thick. If too thick, add more milk. If it's too thin, add more powdered sugar.
- 5 Put it in the refrigerator for 30-60 minutes to thicken the liquid.
- 6 Add flavoring. You can add lemon juice, vanilla extract, almond extract, or any other flavoring. You can also add food coloring if desired.
- 7 Spread the frosting over the brownie. Let the cake cool first.
Method 2 of 6: Oil Glaze
- 1 Use an electric mixer to stir about 90 grams of softened butter in a small bowl. Stir until foamy.
- 2 Add 160 grams of caster sugar and one tablespoon of milk or water one at a time.
- 3 Smear the frosting. After stirring the frosting, spread it over the brownie.
- The glaze can be colored with food coloring.

Method 3 of 6: Chocolate icing
- 1 Place 80 grams of coarsely chopped dark chocolate and 60 grams of cream in an ovenproof glass bowl.
- 2 Place the bowl in a pot of boiling water. If you have a double boiler, you can use it.
- 3 Stir the mixture until smooth.
- 4 After the frosting has melted, apply it to the cakes.

Method 4 of 6: Cheese frosting
- 1 In a small bowl, combine 90 grams of cream cheese and 90 grams of softened butter. You can use an electric mixer.
- 2 Stir until the two ingredients are as white as possible.
- 3 Add 160 grams of caster sugar little by little.

Method 5 of 6: Fluffy Icing
- 1 In a small saucepan, combine 220 grams of powdered sugar and 80 ml of water, put on fire, but do not bring to a boil. Stir until sugar dissolves.
- 2 Simmer for five minutes. Do not stir or cover. The syrup is ready when the syrup reaches 116ºC on the baking thermometer or when it thickens and does not color.
- 3 Remove the syrup from the stove. Leave the pan to let the bubbles subside.
- 4 In a small bowl, stir two egg whites until frothy.
- 5 While continuing to stir the protein with a mixer, slowly pour in the hot syrup in a thin stream. Then, stir the mixture at high speed for 10 minutes until thick and cool.
- 6 Use it however you like.
Method 6 of 6: Cream frosting
- 1 In a small saucepan, combine 50 grams of butter, 55 grams of powdered sugar and two tablespoons of water over medium heat, but do not bring to a boil. Stir until sugar dissolves.
- 2 Pour 120 grams of powdered sugar and two tablespoons of cocoa powder into a heatproof bowl.
- 3 While stirring the hot butter mixture, gradually pour the cocoa and sugar into it.
- 4 Cover the pot with a lid. Place it in the refrigerator until the mixture cools and thickens.
- 5 Stir the frosting with a wooden broom before spreading the frosting over the cake.
Tips
- Make sure the frosting is completely cool before applying the frosting to the cake, or your frosting will melt on it.
- You can add food coloring to change the color of the frosting.
- By pouring the icing into a sturdy plastic bag and cutting off the tip, you can decorate a cake or pastry.
- Powdered sugar can also be called confectionery sugar. This is the same. The powder should be in the form of a fine white powder, not as white crystals. Granulated sugar (which looks like small crystals) is not very suitable for icing because it is not sweet enough.
- Glaze also works well for cookies.
- Cinnamon, lemon juice, crushed mint sticks, cookie bits - whatever you choose can make your frosting tastier and more original.
- You can look at the samples and try to recreate them on your cake.
Warnings
- Do not heat the frosting too much, as this can boil the milk and ruin all the frosting.
- If you don't want to use raw eggs in your icing, go for pasteurized ones.
