In this article, we'll show you how to make Belgian French fries. It differs from regular fries in that it is baked twice.
Ingredients
- Big potatoes
- Vegetable oil
- Mayonnaise
- Salt
Steps
1 Wash and peel the potatoes.
2 Cut it into 1 cm long strips.
3 Wash them in cold water to remove excess starch. This will make the potatoes crisp.
4 Dry the potatoes with paper towels.
5 Pour the oil into a deep skillet and fry the potatoes at 160 degrees to Celsius. Don't put too many potatoes in the pan.The whole process will take about 8 minutes.
6 Remove the potatoes and place them in a bowl on a paper towel to absorb the oil. Let the potatoes cool for 20 minutes.
7 Fry the potatoes again. Set the temperature to 190 degrees and fry it for 2-4 minutes. Then place the potatoes on a paper towel to absorb the oil.
8 Serve with mayonnaise and ketchup. Sprinkle potatoes with salt.
Tips
- Do not cut the potatoes into thin strips - at least 1 cm.
- You can serve potatoes with any sauce, mustard or pickles.
- Use large potatoes for easier chopping.
Warnings
- If you put too many potatoes in the pan, they will stick together.
- Do not cover the pan with a lid.
