This article will show you how to view Outlook email (MSG) files on a computer that does not have Outlook. There are several online converters that you can use to convert your MSG file to PDF as well as view the attachments of MSG files.

Steps

Method 1 of 2: Zamzar

1. 1 Remember when to use Zamzar. Use this service if you want to download the PDF version of emails along with attachments (if they are less than 20 MB).
   • Zamzar will need your email address to send a link to download emails and attachments. If you do not want to provide your email address, please use the Encryptomatic service.
2. 2 Open the Zamzar website. Go to https://www.zamzar.com/ in your computer's web browser.
3. 3 Click on Choose Files (Select files). It's in the Step 1 section in the middle of the page. An Explorer (Windows) or Finder (Mac) window opens.
4. 4 Select the MSG file. Navigate to the folder with the MSG file and then click on it.
5. 5 Click on Open. It's in the lower-right corner of the window. The MSG file will be uploaded to the Zamzar page.
6. 6 Open the "Convert files to" menu. It's in the Step 2 section.
7. 7 Click on pdf. It's under the Documents section of the menu.
8. 8 Please enter your email address. Do this in the text box of the Step 3 section (Step 3).
9. 9 Click on Convert (Convert). It's a gray button in the Step 4 section. Zamzar will begin converting the MSG file to PDF.
10. 10 Open the page with the modified MSG file. When the file is converted, Zamzar will send you a confirmation email. In it you will find a link to the download page for the MSG file:
    • open your mailbox;
    • open the letter “Converted file from Zamzar”;
      • be sure to check the "Spam" folder (and the "Updates" folder, if any), if the letter has not arrived within 5 minutes;
    • click on the long link at the bottom of the email.
11. 11 Download the converted PDF. Click the green Download Now button to the right of the PDF file. The name of this file will match the subject of the email, for example hello.pdf.
12. 12 Download attachments. If your emails have attachments, download them by clicking Download Now to the right of the Attachments ZIP file. The attachments will be downloaded to your computer as an archive (ZIP file).
    • To view the attachments, unzip the archive.

Method 2 of 2: Encryptomatic

1. 1 Remember when to use Encryptomatic. Use this service if you just want to view emails with attachments (if they are less than 8 MB). Attachments can be downloaded from the browse page.
   • The main disadvantage of Encryptomatic is the limitation on the size of emails and attachments. If you need to download multiple attachments from a MSG file, use the Zamzar service.
2. 2 Open the Encryptomatic website. Go to https://www.encryptomatic.com/viewer/ in your computer's web browser.
3. 3 Click on Overview. It's a gray button in the upper-left side of the page. An Explorer (Windows) or Finder (Mac) window opens.
4. 4 Select the MSG file. Navigate to the folder with the MSG file and then click on it.
5. 5 Click on Open. It's in the lower-right corner of the window. The MSG file will be uploaded to the Encryptomatic page.
   • If the text “File is too large” appears to the right of the Browse button, you will not be able to open the MSG file in Encryptomatic. In this case, use the Zamzar service.
6. 6 Click on View (View). It's a blue button to the right of the Browse button. The browsing page will open.
7. 7 Review the email. To do this, scroll down the page. The page will display the text of the letter and pictures.
8. 8 Download attachments. If the email has an attachment, its name will appear to the right of “Attachments” in the middle of the page. Click on the attachment name and you will be prompted to download it to your computer.

Tips

• If you have Outlook installed on your computer, open the MSG file in Outlook by double-clicking it.

Warnings

• Some images or formatting of the MSG file may not be saved if you download it through the Zamzar service.
