It's easy, nerves, painful and fun at the same time ... It's all about being a writer! Whether you're writing an essay or a novel, a good title can go a long way. Sometimes it’s easy to come up with a headline, and sometimes you’re ready to pull your hair out.

Steps

Method 1 of 1: Come up with your own name

  1. 1 Cool it down! No, really, just take a step back and take a look at your work. Is this a science fiction novel? An essay on ants? How do you feel about it, a burst of energy? laughter? well-being? Try to think about this when you search for the right words.
  2. 2 Sometimes your main character's name is a perfectly good name. For example, if you are writing an essay, the name of the object is (Ants).
  3. 3 Subheadings are your friends! If one to five words in the title are missing to make it clear, add subheadings that can attract attention (Ants: How They Live, Work, and Reproduce).
  4. 4 Be free in your choice! This is your creativity! A good title, like a good story or essay, is from the heart and soul of the author, if you like it, then the title is good.
  5. 5 Keep it short and sweet. Few people would like to read the title “The Big Black Book about Snow, Ice, Ice Crystals, Icicles, Freezing Rain, Sleet, Hail and Frozen Condensation Falling from the Sky in the Winter Season” (they don't even want to say that! ) although they probably would have taken a book called "Cold Things" or "Cold".
  6. 6 Puns are fun! If the title makes the reader laugh, they will probably keep reading. (Note: Don't use puns when writing about a funeral or the like, unless it's a fun funeral.)
