Tagged Image File Format, or TIFF, is a scanned image storage format that mimics the functionality of PDF files created with Adobe Acrobat. Adobe Reader can also convert a TIFF file to PDF, which allows you to view the converted file on almost any platform and in any application.

Steps

Method 1 of 2: Using Adobe Reader

1. 1 Go to the Adobe Reader download page: https://get.adobe.com/en/reader/. Adobe Reader is a free program that converts compatible file formats to PDF and is available for computers running Windows and Mac OS X.
2. 2 Click "Install Now" and download the installation file to your computer.
3. 3 Open the Downloads folder on your computer and double-click the Adobe Reader installation file.
4. 4 Follow the instructions on the screen to install Adobe Reader on your computer.
5. 5 Launch Adobe Reader when the installation is complete.
6. 6 Open the File menu and select Create PDF Online.
7. 7 Click on "Add File" in the panel on the right, and then select the TIFF file you want to convert to PDF.
8. 8 Click Convert and then enter your Adobe ID credentials. Sign in to be able to convert files to PDF and upload them to the Adobe server. The TIFF file will then be downloaded and converted to PDF.
   • Go to the Adobe ID page: https://accounts.adobe.com/, click Get Adobe ID, and follow the onscreen instructions to create an Adobe account if you don't already have one.
9. 9 Click Download PDF File. Adobe Reader will display the generated PDFs repository in a new browser tab.
10. 10 Select the new PDF and click Download. The converted PDF file will be saved on your computer.

Method 2 of 2: Troubleshooting

1. 1 If Adobe Reader is detected as a virus or malware, temporarily disable your antivirus on your computer. Some antivirus and service providers mistakenly identify Adobe Reader as malware.
2. 2 Try updating your computer or operating system if you are having trouble installing Adobe Reader. Adobe Reader is only compatible with Windows 7, Mac OS X 10.9 and newer versions of these OS.
3. 3 Update your graphics card drivers if Adobe Reader does not want to install on your Windows computer. Outdated video card drivers may interfere with its installation.
4. 4 Make sure ActiveX controls are enabledif you are having problems using Adobe Reader in Internet Explorer. This feature must be enabled for Adobe Reader to install and work properly.
5. 5 If you continue to experience problems installing Adobe Reader, make sure your computer is JavaScript enabled. This feature helps resolve issues with Adobe Reader features.

• If you don't want to install Adobe Reader on your computer, try converting TIFF files to PDF using free online file conversion services. Open your favorite search engine and enter searches such as "free convert tiff to pdf" or "convert tiff to pdf online" to find free online services that offer file conversion services.
