What do you need

1 It often happens that an existing wall made of another material is lined with bricks (for example, you can brick a house). At the same time, you can use different styles of masonry (English masonry, American / conventional masonry), unless, of course, the house is completely brick and so.

Make sure you have all the tools you need. If you are laying brick on the wall of a house, make sure that the foundation protrudes enough to form the base of the brick wall. 3 Continue laying out the edges, and then reporting in the middle, until you have completed the laying of the required height. Do not forget to check the middle of the masonry also by level to make sure that it turns out evenly. If one edge turns out to be too high, place the bricks in it more densely in height.

Tips

After laying every 5-6 rows, nail metal ties to the wooden wall of the house and bend their ends onto the front part to fasten the brick wall to the wooden wall of the house or building, protecting it from crumbling.
When laying the ends, make sure that they are staying plumb up and down.
Know the thickness of your bricks if you are going to hit a specific height when laying.
Some bricks may be drier than others. Therefore, after every 5 rows, check the seams and, if necessary, if they begin to dry out, go over the seams with a jointing tool. It is a good idea to wet the bricks well before laying them so that they suck less moisture from the mortar, allowing the jointing tool to walk along the seams after a longer period of time.

Warnings

Always use protective equipment when cutting bricks or stirring mortar.
Wear a hard hat, especially if someone is working on you. It is not pleasant if a brick falls on your head.
If you are using scaffolding, make sure it is strong.
