Uber is an international service developed in San Francisco that allows you to reserve a personal driver in any of the cities in which the mobile application for iPhone or Android is running. The service uses dispatching software that automatically sends the driver to a specified location. A distinctive feature of Uber from classic taxi companies is non-cash payment, all payments are made through a credit card or PayPal payment system.

Steps

Method 1 of 2: Registering in the app

1. 1 Go to the official Uber website. Uber is an American-based global company that allows you to reserve a personal driver in any of the cities where the app runs. Open the Uber page in the uber.com browser.
   • You can also register through the Uber app on your phone.
2. 2 Click on the "Register" link under the "Use Uber" sign. If this is your first time using this app, you need to create a new account. You need a credit card or PayPal account to use this app.
3. 3 Fill in the First Name and Last Name fields. The name will be provided to the drivers so that upon arriving at their destination they can make sure they are transporting the correct passenger. The surname was not disclosed.
4. 4 Enter your phone number. This information is necessary for drivers to update information about your location, in case they cannot find you. You can also use your phone number to sign in to your Uber account.
5. 5 Enter your email. Add your valid email address to create an account and receive receipts.
6. 6 Create a password. It will be used to log into your Uber account.
7. 7 Add promo code (if available). You can enter the promo code of a friend who is already using this application, then both of you will receive a discount of 300 rubles (the publication of personal promo codes is prohibited, as it contradicts the company's privacy policy, and your Uber credit account will be canceled). If you haven't received a code from a friend, we recommend that you visit the official Uber website, where you can find promo codes.
8. 8 Read the terms and privacy policy. Before using the app, make sure you agree to Uber's privacy policy and terms of service.
9. 9 Click on the "Register" button. A new account will be created and you will receive a confirmation email at the email address you specified earlier. You can now use the Uber app.

Method 2 of 2: Ordering a driver

1. 1 Tap the Uber app icon on your phone. Sign in to your account if you haven't already.
   • If you don't have the Uber mobile app, you can download it from the iPhone App Store or Android Play Store.
2. 2 Click “Where To?”And enter the destination. Select your location in the search bar that appears.
   • If your contacts are synced with the Uber app, you can tag your friend's address as a destination. A confirmation request will be sent to your contact. After receiving a positive answer, the driver will take you straight to him.
3. 3 Select your car type. Different cities have different versions of the Uber service. Usually you can choose Uber X, Uber XL, UberPool, Select and other options available. Swipe from left to right to see the cars on offer, estimated waiting times and cost of travel.
   • uberPOOL is a service that allows you to share your trip with strangers, which significantly reduces the cost of the service. Not available in all cities.
   • uberX is the most widespread and popular version, in which you are provided with a driver and up to 4 passenger seats in the car.
   • Select - service is provided by more expensive vehicles than UberX.
   • Black - an executive class car with 4 passenger seats will be sent to the destination (only foreign cars of E and S classes not older than 3 years with experienced drivers). Mostly cars like BMW 5 or 7, Mercedes E or S, Audi A6 or A8).
   • XL - a large size car with 6 passenger seats is provided.
   • SUV - an executive SUV with 6 passenger seats will be waiting for you.
   • ASSIST is a service for people with disabilities.
   • WAV - cars used in this version of Uber are equipped with special lifts and ramps for the transport of disabled people.
4. 4 Indicate the number of seats required (UberPool). If you have selected the UberPool version, you can specify one or two passenger seats. If your company has more than 2 people, you should order UberX.
5. 5 Check out the approximate cost. The estimated cost of the trip at the moment is displayed under each type of car, the price varies from the tariffs of the selected service and the degree of traffic congestion. The amount indicated when ordering a car exactly corresponds to the fare that you will pay at the end of the trip.
   • Estimated cost is not available for all vehicles. Some versions with certain machines provide only general information on tariffs.
   • Uber fares are based on two metrics: travel time and distance. Depending on the speed of the car, the calculation is made (if the car is moving at a speed of 18 km / h, then you will pay by the minute, and if you are driving at a speed of more than 18 km / h, then the payment is made for the mileage). You will also have to pay to pick up the car, this amount depends on your location. The cost of travel in different cities differs significantly. You can check it in advance (on the Uber website) or use the online app to calculate the cost of the trip. In all cities there is a minimum cost of travel.
6. 6 Click Order Uber. You will be prompted to confirm your location.
7. 7 Confirm the location. The Uber app uses your phone's geolocation data to determine your location.You can indicate the point on the map where you would like the driver to drive.
   • Click on "Confirm Location" and place your order.
   • You will be offered the most convenient place where the car can drive up.
8. 8 Expect the driver at the exact point on your trip. Do not go back if the car has not yet arrived at its destination and do not go far, as in this case, the driver will not know where you are, and you both will waste time to find each other. The app displays the approximate waiting time for the vehicle. If all drivers are busy, please repeat the request in a few minutes, most likely, there will be an available car for your trip.
   • The Uber app provides the driver's phone number if you have specific travel requests.
   • If the trip is canceled more than 5 minutes after the order, a commission of 99 rubles will be deducted from your account for the driver's time spent.
   • The approximate waiting time for a car depends on the city, traffic congestion and time of day when you place your order.
9. 9 Pay for your trip. All payments are processed automatically by Uber and depend on the payment method you specified when placing your order. You can use a credit or debit card, PayPal, Android or Apple Pay account, or other payment methods available in your country.
   • Tipping for Uber drivers is optional but welcome. Please note that on all Uber services, tip percentage is not included in the final price of the ride, except for Uber TAXI.
   • You can change the amount of tips for the driver (instead of the initially set threshold of 20% of the cost of the trip). On the official Uber website, log into your account and open the "Payment" section to change this section.
10. 10 Rate the ride. You will be asked to rate the trip after it is completed. Keep in mind that a rating of 4 stars or less will lower the driver's rating and there will be fewer drivers available on the next trip. Uber only rates a 5-star rating as positive.

Tips

• You can cancel your order by swiping up the driver information and then clicking Cancel Ride. We recommend that you cancel your order no later than 5 minutes after placing it in order not to pay a commission of 99 rubles.
• UberTAXI drivers do not work exclusively with Uber, but pay a commission on every ride.
• It should be borne in mind that when ordering the UberPool option, the estimated time of arrival at the designated point increases, since, most likely, the driver will first take other passengers. You will not be able to choose in which order the driver will place the order. Also, in this version of the Uber service, the driver earns less. We do not recommend this option if you are looking for the perfect service. Do not forget that with UberPool you will not be able to manage your trip, the driver will determine the most convenient route.
• Tips on the UberTAXI option are included in the final price of the order and are 20% of the cost of the trip, but when calling UberX, UberBlack or UberSUV, the tip is not included in the bill.
