This article will show you how to find, cook, and eat food in the mobile version of Minecraft. You can only eat food in Survival Mode and on a difficulty level of at least Easy, and your satiety level must be less than 100%.

Steps

Part 1 of 3: How to start the game

1. 1 Start Minecraft PE. Click on the icon in the form of a block of earth with grass.
2. 2 Tap Play. This option is in the middle of the screen.
   • Minecraft PE will launch in landscape orientation, which means you need to rotate your device.
3. 3 Touch the existing world. It will load where you last saved.
   • The selected world must be in survival mode, and the difficulty level cannot be "Peaceful".
   • Alternatively, you can click Create New at the top of the screen and then click Create Game World at the top of the next page to configure the settings for the new world. Now click "Create" on the left side of the screen to load the new world.

Part 2 of 3: How to Get and Eat Raw Food

1. 1 Decide what food you will eat. In Minecraft, food can be obtained in several ways.
2. 2 Find an animal or oak tree. No matter where the game starts, you will be close to animals or oak trees.
   • Kill the animal and collect the items that will fall out of it. To kill an animal, click on it - at the moment of impact, the animal will turn red.
   • Only oaks and dark oaks are dropping apples. None of the other trees provide edible items.
3. 3 Kill the animal or remove the leaves from the tree. At the beginning of the game, we recommend that you find a pig, sheep or chicken, and click on it several times until it dies, or find an oak tree and knock off all the leaves from it. To knock down the leaves, press and hold them until the circle under your finger fills up. Apples will fall from the tree (in rare cases).
   • You should not eat rotten flesh (dropped from dead zombies) and spider eyes (dropped from dead spiders), as this food will poison you.
   • You don't need any tools to complete the above steps.
4. 4 Create a fishing rod and throw it into the pond. After a while, bubbles will appear on the surface of the water, and the float will sink under the water. Pull out the fishing rod - a raw fish will be added to your inventory. In this way, you can catch salmon, clown fish, puffer fish and various objects (leather, saddle, enchanted book, etc.).
   • Do not eat puffer fish because you will get nausea, hunger, and poisoning.
5. 5 Choose food. To do this, tap the food icon on the quick access bar at the bottom of the screen, or select a food in your inventory - click "..." on the right side of the quick access bar, and then tap the food icon in your inventory.
6. 6 Press and hold your finger on the screen. The character will bring food to his face, and after a few seconds the food will disappear. The satiety level will increase.
   • Remember that you can only eat when the satiety level, which is displayed in the upper right corner of the screen, is less than 100%; otherwise, you will simply hit the blocks with food.

Part 3 of 3: How to Prepare Food

1. 1 Gather the required resources. To prepare food, you will need a stove, wood or coal, and meat or potatoes. To craft a furnace, you need a workbench and eight cobblestones.
   • To create a crafting table, obtain one block of wood.
   • To get the cobblestone, you need at least a wooden pickaxe.
   • Add one wood block to the furnace in the fuel slot. This will prepare one piece of food. Moreover, two wood blocks can be added to the furnace - one in the fuel slot and the other in the item slot; this will make charcoal. One charcoal can cook 8 food items.
2. 2 Tap…. It's on the right side of the quick access bar at the bottom of the screen.
3. 3 Tap the Create tab. You will find it on the left side of the screen, just above the tab in the lower left corner.
4. 4 Click on the wooden box icon and then press 4 x. The 4 x button is on the right side of the screen, and to the right is a wooden box icon. One block of wood will make four planks.
5. 5 Click on the workbench icon and then click 1 x. This is similar to the tab you are currently working on. A workbench will be created.
6. 6 Click on the workbench on the quick access bar. You will take it in your hand.
   • If there is no workbench on the Quick Access Toolbar, double-click "..." and then click on the workbench icon.
7. 7 Tap X. This symbol is in the upper left corner of the screen.
8. 8 Touch the ground in front of you. This will place the workbench on the ground.
9. 9 If you have at least 8 cobblestones, click on the workbench. It will open and you will see the oven icon.
10. 10 Click on the oven icon and then tap 1 x. The stove is a gray stone block with a black hole in the front.
11. 11 Press X again. The workbench will close.
12. 12 Click on the oven on the quick access bar. You will take the stove in your hand.
    • If there is no oven on the quick access toolbar, double-click "..." and then click on the oven icon.
13. 13 Touch the ground in front of you. This will place the oven on the ground.
14. 14 Click on the stove. It will open. On the right, you will see three slots:
    • Item - you need to put food in this slot.
    • Fuel - in this slot you need to put a block of wood, boards or charcoal.
    • Result - cooked food will appear in this slot.
15. 15 Click on the "Item" slot and then click on the meat. It will be added to the specified slot.
16. 16 Click on the Fuel slot and then click on the tree block. This block will be added to the oven and start the cooking process.
17. 17 Wait for the food to cook. As soon as the food appears in the Result slot, your food is ready.
18. 18 Double-click the food in the Result field. It will be added to your inventory.
19. 19 Choose food. To do this, click on its icon on the quick access bar at the bottom of the screen, or tap "..." on the right side of the quick access bar, and then click on the food icon in your inventory.
20. 20 Press and hold your finger on the screen. The character will bring food to his face, and after a few seconds the food will disappear. The satiety level will increase.
    • Remember that you can only eat when the satiety level, which is displayed in the upper right corner of the screen, is less than 100%; otherwise, you will simply hit the blocks with food.
    • When you eat cooked food, your satiety level will rise faster than when you eat raw food.

Tips

• You won't be able to cook fruit in Minecraft.
