If your tape recorder does not read cassettes well and refuses to rewind them, we will show you how to clean the tape deck in the tape recorder so that it works normally again.

Steps

1. 1 Remove the cassette from the deck.
2. 2 Open the door of the recorder.
3. 3 Take an alcohol solution and a clean cleaning material.
4. 4 Take a cotton swab and moisten it with alcohol.
5. 5 Clean the small cylinders on which the cassette is placed.
6. 6 Clean the mechanism inside the deck. Click on the play button to make it spin.
7. 7 Clean the shank (drive shaft of the mechanism). It also needs to be cleaned on the move.
8. 8 Take the material, dampen it in alcohol and wipe everything inside the deck.
9. 9 Insert the cassette.
10. 10 Rewind it to the beginning and then to the end. This will align the cassette tape. The tape recorder should now work normally.
11. 11 Enjoy your music.

Tips

• Check the cassette, there may be a problem with it.
• If cleaning does not help, check the cassette on another recorder.
• If all else fails, you will have to try buying a demagnetizer.
• Try manually rewinding the cassette to flatten the tape.

Warnings

• Never place a magnet next to a cassette. This will delete all content on it.
• Handle cassettes very carefully.
• Never force open anything, you will break the tape recorder.
