Have an old RCA remote that you want to use, but don't see the Code Search button like the newer RCA controls? Don't worry, we can help! This article will help you find those codes to set up your controls.

Steps

Method 1 of 3: Finding Your Control

  1. Find the controller's number (can be found on the back of the monitor). Remove the battery cover on the back and look for example RCR412S.

  2. Go to the page RCA Remote Code Finder. Click the Model that appears and select your model from the list.
  3. Press the Manual button at the top left of the page. Enter your control number here and press the button with the red magnifying glass. Once found, you can view the manual or view the full code list in PDF format.

  4. Note: In the unlikely event that you cannot find the control's number on the RCA page, visit this website. Find your control, click and look at the bottom of the page that says it Originally supplied with models (Sample included). This is the model number for the VCRs (video players) that your remote can adjust or come with when purchased. advertisement

Method 2 of 3: Set up Your Controls

  1. Press and hold the TV button on the remote. The LED will light up. Do not let go of the TV button.
  2. Insert code. While holding the TV button with your hand, enter the code (code) of the TV or VCR into the remote. The LED will turn off during number entry and light up again when the last digit is entered.
  3. Release your hand from the TV button. The LED will flash and turn off if the number is successfully entered. In the case of an error, the light will flash 4 times.
  4. Switching channels to watch is not yet.
    • Note: Not all features are supported on all controls. However, basic features like channel switching on the TV and the controller on the VCR will usually work just fine.

  1. Turn on the device you want to set up.
  2. Activate Code Search. Hold down the power button and the device button at the same time until the LED lights up.
  3. Click Play (Play) every 5 seconds until device turns off. Each time, ten codes will be sent.
  4. Click Rewind / Reverse (Rewind / Rewind) to see if the device turns on / off again. Wait 2 seconds and press again until the device is turned on. You may have to go through this step 10 times in order to look through the ten codes sent.
  5. Press and hold the Stop button until the light goes out. This is the step to save the code. advertisement
