If your Xbox 360 console is not working and one red light is blinking, then this is a hardware problem. In this case, you need to read the error code on the TV screen. This guide will help you troubleshoot the following errors: E67, E68, E69, E70, E79

Steps

1. 1 Unplug your Xbox 360 and unplug the power cord.
2. 2 Remove the hard drive (if applicable). To remove the hard drive from the "old" Xbox 360 console, press the button on the drive itself and carefully remove it. To remove the hard drive from the Slim Xbox 360, open the drive door and simply lift it out of the console. If your console does not have a hard drive, go to step 8.
3. 3 Reconnect the power cord and turn on your Xbox 360.
4. 4 Is the Xbox 360 working properly now? If so, unplug your Xbox 360 and proceed to the next step. If the red light blinks again, go to step 8.
5. 5 Replace the hard drive.
6. 6 Turn on your Xbox 360.
7. 7 Does the red light keep blinking? If so, this is a problem with your hard drive and needs to be replaced. If the console began to work normally, then the disk contact was coming off. Enjoy your favorite games.
8. 8 If the console does not work even without a hard drive installed, then the problem may lie in one of the connected accessories. The following steps will help you figure it out.
