This article will show you how to open a list of IP addresses that can access your router. This can be done on a Windows or Mac OS X computer (via the router's configuration page) and on an iPhone or Android device (using dedicated applications).

Steps

Method 1 of 3: On the computer

  1. 1 Find out the IP address of your router. For this:
    • Windows: open the start menu , click "Options" , click on "Network and Internet", click on "View network settings", scroll down to the "Wi-Fi" section and note the address in the "Default gateway" line.
    • Mac: open the Apple menu , click on System Preferences, click on Network, in the left pane, click on your wireless network, click on Advanced, go to the TCP / IP tab and note the address in the Router line.
  2. 2 Open your web browser. Double click on your web browser icon (for example Google Chrome).
  3. 3 Click on the address bar. It's at the top of the window.
    • If there is any text in the address bar, remove it first.
  4. 4 Enter the address of your router. Enter the address you found in the Default Gateway (Windows) or Router (Mac) line, and then click ↵ Enter.
  5. 5 Log in to the router's configuration page. Enter your username and password and then click ↵ Enter.
    • If you have not changed the default username and password, look for them on the case of the router or in the instructions for it.
  6. 6 Find a list of connected devices. The location of the list depends on the router model, so review the Settings, Advanced Settings, Status, and Connections tabs.
    • Some routers have this list under DHCP connections or Wireless connections.
  7. 7 View the list of connected devices. The devices listed are currently connected to your router and are thus using your network.
    • Many routers also display devices that have connected to the router in the past (but are not currently connected). These devices are usually grayed out or otherwise marked as not connected.

Method 2 of 3: On iPhone

  1. 1 Install the Fing app. This is a free application that searches and displays all devices connected to your network. To install it, follow these steps:
    • open the App Store ;
    • click "Search";
    • tap the search bar;
    • enter fing and click "Find";
    • tap "Download" to the right of "Fing";
    • when prompted, enter your Apple ID password or tap the Touch ID sensor.
  2. 2 Run Fing. Tap Open in the App Store or tap the blue and white Fing app icon on the home screen.
  3. 3 Wait for the list of IP addresses to be displayed on the screen. As soon as the application is launched, it will immediately start looking for the IP addresses of the connected devices, but this may take several minutes.
  4. 4 Review the list of IP addresses. Do this when they appear on the screen to see what devices are connected to your router.
    • If you wait a few minutes, instead of some (or all) of the IP addresses, the application will display the names and manufacturers of the corresponding devices.

Method 3 of 3: On an Android device

  1. 1 Install the Network Utilities app. This is a free application that searches and displays all devices connected to your network. To install it, follow these steps:
    • open the Play Store ;
    • tap the search bar;
    • enter Network utilities;
    • click "Find";
    • click on the Network Utilities application icon, which looks like yellow balls on a gray background;
    • tap Install.
  2. 2 Start Network Utilities. Click Open in the Play Store or tap the yellow-gray Network Utilities app icon in the app drawer.
  3. 3 Click on Allowwhen prompted. Network Utilities will access your wireless settings.
  4. 4 Tap Local devices (Local devices). It's on the left side of the screen.
    • If you do not see this option, first press "☰" in the upper left corner of the screen.
  5. 5 Review the list of IP addresses that appears on the screen. Each of these addresses refers to a specific device that is currently connected to your network.
    • If you wait a few minutes, instead of some (or all) of the IP addresses, the application will display the names and manufacturers of the corresponding devices.
