Don't want to receive SMS from certain numbers? Do you receive spam in SMS messages? In this article, we will tell you how to block a number and not receive SMS from it on iPhone and Android Galaxy.

Steps

Method 1 of 4: Block Contacts on iPhone

1. 1 On the home screen of your device, click on "Settings". The "Settings" icon looks like gears.
2. 2 Click Messages. When you get to settings, scroll to the bottom of the page ..
3. 3 Click "Block" This option is located at the very end of the "Messages" section.
4. 4 Add phone numbers from which you want to block receiving messages (SMS). To do this, click "Add". A list of phone numbers will open; click on the numbers you want to block from receiving SMS.
5. 5 Block contacts. Now SMS from the numbers you selected will not be delivered to your phone. Please note that the sender may receive notifications that his messages are being delivered, but you will not receive messages from that sender.

   • You can unblock a number at any time by clicking “Unblock” next to the desired number.

Method 2 of 4: Block Contacts on Android Galaxy

1. 1 Click on Messages (at the bottom of the screen).
2. 2 Click on "Menu" (at the bottom left of the screen). This button will light up when you press it. A menu will open with various options.
3. 3 Click on "Settings". Scroll down the page and find the "Register number as spam" option. This option blocks receiving SMS from the specified number.
4. 4 Click the plus sign (+) (at the top right of the screen) to add unwanted numbers to the blocked list.
   • If you have not blocked any numbers, there will be nothing on the page except for the inscription "No blocked numbers".
5. 5 Enter the number you want to block. You can do it manually or click on the number in your contacts list (if the number is included in this list).
6. 6 Click "Save" (after you have selected the blocked numbers). Now you will not receive messages from the selected numbers.
   • You can unblock a number at any time by removing it from the list of blocked numbers.

Method 3 of 4: Blacklist (Android only)

1. 1 Launch Google Play Store. If you find yourself in the "Music" section, exit it. To do this, click on the icon in the form of three horizontal lines in the upper left corner of the screen.
2. 2 Go to the Google Play Store home page. Then click on the search icon in the upper right corner of the screen. In the search bar, enter Calls Blacklist and click on the search icon (next to the search bar). A list of found applications will be displayed.
3. 3 Find "Calls Blacklist - Call Blocker" in this list. Make sure you find the specified app as there are many others with similar names. Click on the app and wait for it to download.
4. 4 When the application has finished installing, click the green Open button.
5. 5 Click the plus (+) sign (in a white circle on a blue background) to add the numbers you want to block.
   • You can add a number manually, from the contacts list, call log or message log.
   • By clicking "From Contacts", you will open a list of all your contacts.
   • By clicking "From the call log", you will open a list of dialed numbers or numbers from which you were called (for a certain period of time, determined by the phone model).
   • By clicking "From message log", you will open a list of received and sent messages; you can select a contact from the message.
6. 6 Click on the appropriate way to add the number. For example, if you want to add a number from your contact list, select From Contact List. Then select the number from the list that opens.
7. 7 Click "Add" (on the lower right side of the screen). You will no longer receive messages from this number.
   • Repeat the above steps to add numbers in other ways (from the call log, from the message log, manually).
   • You can unblock a number at any time by clicking on it and clicking Remove.

Method 4 of 4: Making changes to your account

1. 1 Go to your mobile operator's website and log in to your account by clicking "Login".
2. 2 Click "My Account". Choose the correct phone number (if you have multiple numbers registered on your account).
3. 3 Click "Options" or "Settings" or "Spam Blocking Settings" (the option name depends on the service provider).
4. 4 Click "Number blocking" or "Permissions", or "Restrictions" (the name of the option depends on the service provider). Find a line or field where you can enter the phone number to block.

5. 5 Enter the number you want to block in the appropriate line or field.
6. 6 Save your changes. The number must be blocked.
