1 Find out which mobile operator the recipient has. Each operator has their own email gateway that you must go through in order to send a text message via email. If you do not know or do not remember the operator, then you can enter a ten-digit phone number in the search engine of providers such as Carrier Lookup or Fone Finder.

2 Enter the recipient's number in the "To" field in your mail. Enter the 10-digit number followed by the unique SMS address of the gateway. Here is a list of the most common gateways:

3 Enter your text. Although you can write a subject, this will reduce the number of characters you can type in your message, since text messages have a 160 character limit.

• Messages that exceed the character limit will be split into multiple messages. Although your email is free, the recipient will be charged for each message (unless they have unlimited messages).
• Upload a photo or video to your message if you want to send MMS.

4 Send a message. Just click on the "Send" button as you usually do when sending emails. The message should reach the recipient within 30 seconds and will look like normal text correspondence. And he will be able to answer you like any text message.

5 Open the answer. When you receive a response, it will be sent to the account from which you originally sent the message. However, unlike a regular letter, in the form of text, you will receive a text file attached to the letter. Tips

• Some phones cannot receive MMS, even sent from email. If you are using the correct gateway and your message still does not reach the recipient, the recipient's phone may not be receiving MMS.
• SMS replaces a phone call as a fast communication. Consider including your SMS address on business cards and email signatures to provide other people with an alternative method of contacting you.
