In this wikiHow article, we'll show you how to cancel a recurring payment and subscription, or an upcoming or unclaimed PayPal payment.

Method 1 of 2: Canceling a recurring payment or subscription

1. 1 Go to the website in your browser https://www.paypal.com. If you are not logged in automatically, click Login in the upper right corner of the window and enter your credentials.
2. 2 Click on . This settings icon is located in the upper right corner of the window.
3. 3 Click the tab Payments. It is located near the middle of the top.
4. 4 Click on Management of pre-approved payments. The button is located in the center of the window.
5. 5 Click on the payment you would like to cancel.
   • If you have a lot of recurring payments, then you may have to click on the "Next page" in the lower right part of the window to find the payment you want.
6. 6 Click on Cancellation. It is next to the payment status.
7. 7 Click on Confirm. This will confirm that you want to cancel the recurring payment.

Method 2 of 2: Cancel a pending or unclaimed payment

1. 1 Go to the website in your browser https://www.paypal.com. If you are not logged in automatically, click Login in the upper right corner of the window and enter your credentials.
2. 2 Click on History at the top of the window.
3. 3 Click on the payment you want to cancel. It's in the Pending section of the History tab.
   • If the payment that you want to cancel is in the "Completed" section, then the recipient has already received the payment, and it cannot be canceled or returned. To get your money back, you need to request a refund or contact customer service.
4. 4 Make sure there is no demand for the payment. At the bottom of the transaction dialog box, you will see the message “[Username] has not yet accepted payment” next to the “Cancel” button.
5. 5 Click on Cancellation.
6. 6 Click onCancel payment.
7. 7 Click on Confirm. Your payment has been canceled.

Warnings

• If you paid with PayPal using a credit card, it may take up to 30 days for a refund to be credited to your credit card account. Keep this in mind when canceling credit card payments, as well as the fact that a refund request is not immediately processed.
