Steps

Method 1 of 3: Use the Trackpad

1. 

   Open a page or app that supports zooming, be it a website, an image, or a document.

   Place two fingers on the Mac computer's trackpad.

   Move your fingers apart. The screen at the mouse cursor position will be enlarged.
   • Repeat this for further magnification.
   • You can also double-tap the touchpad with two fingers to zoom in.

Method 2 of 3: Use keyboard shortcuts

1. 

   
   
   Open a page or app that supports zooming, be it a website, an image, or a document.

2. 

   Keep key ⌘ Command, then press the key +. The screen will be magnified in the center.
   • You can zoom in further after each key press +.
   • Click View in the range of options at the top left of the screen, then tap Zoom In to enlarge the center of the screen.

Method 3 of 3: Turn on the Zoom feature

1. 

   Click the Apple logo in the upper left corner of the screen.

2. 

   Click System Preferences (System Preferences) is near the top of the drop-down menu.

3. 

   Click on options Accessibility (Accessibility) is located near the lower right corner of the "System Preferences" window.

4. 

   Click on the action Zoom is located in the left bar of the "Accessibility" window.

   Check the box to the left of the line "Use keyboard shortcuts to zoom" (Use keyboard shortcuts to zoom in / out). The option is located at the top of the "Accessibility" page, when checked, the shortcut settings for zooming / zooming will be enabled:
   • ⌥ Option+⌘ Command+8 - Zoom in or out with fixed level.
   • ⌥ Option+⌘ Command - Zoom in when Zoom is enabled.
   • ⌥ Option+⌘ Command+- Zoom out when Zoom is enabled.
   • ⌥ Option+⌘ Command+ - Turn on / off the image smoothing feature, to delete pixels in the image that are enlarged many times.

   Click More Options (More options) is at the bottom, right of the "Accessibility" window.
   • On this page, you can also change the zoom method from "Fullscreen" to "Picture-in-Picture" (enlarges the window next to the mouse pointer) by clicking. Click the box next to "Zoom Style" near the bottom of the window and choose the style you like.

   Set the "Maximum Zoom" and "Minimum Zoom" values. Click and drag the appropriate slider to the right / left to increase / decrease the value.

   See the screen motion setting. You have three options for how to switch to another part of the screen during zoom:
   • Continuously with pointer - The screen will move with the mouse pointer.
   • Only when the pointer reaches an edge - The screen will scroll when the mouse pointer moves to the edge of the screen.
   • So the pointer is at or near the center of the screen - The screen will shift to keep the mouse pointer centered.

9. 

   Click the option you want to apply motion patterns to the screen when zoomed in.

    Click OK. The selected shortcut will let you zoom in or out on your desktop and windows that don't support zooming on your Mac. advertisement
