This article will show you how to turn off Driving Mode on an iPhone or Android device. Driving Mode is a feature that turns off all notifications when it detects that you are in a moving vehicle.

Steps

Method 1 of 2: On iPhone

1. 1 Disable driving mode temporarily. On iPhone, Drive Mode is a Do Not Disturb feature. To turn off Do Not Disturb:
   • swipe up from the bottom of the screen;
   • click on the purple Do Not Disturb icon .
2. 2 Launch the Settings app . Click on the gray gear-shaped icon.
3. 3 Scroll down and tap Do Not Disturb . It's a moon-shaped icon at the top of the settings page.
4. 4 Scroll down to the Do Not Disturb Driver section. You will find this section at the bottom of the page.
5. 5 Tap Activate. It's under the Do Not Disturb Driver heading.
6. 6 Click on Manually. It's near the bottom of the menu. Now the Do Not Disturb feature can only be enabled manually.
7. 7 Disable Do Not Disturb (if necessary). If Do Not Disturb is activated, press the Back button in the upper left corner of the screen, scroll up the page and tap the green Do Not Disturb slider.
   • You can also use Control Center to turn off Drive Mode (as described in the first step of this section).

Method 2 of 2: On an Android device

1. 1 Open the quick settings menu. Swipe down with two fingers. A menu will open.
2. 2 Look for the "Driving Mode" or "Do Not Disturb" notification. If the Android device is in driving mode, a notification will be displayed in the menu that opens.
   • On a Samsung Galaxy, tap the colored Do Not Disturb icon in the menu to turn off Driving Mode. You may need to confirm your decision.
3. 3 Tap the notification. The Driving Mode Settings page will open.
4. 4 Tap the colored slider next to Enable or Do Not Disturb. It is usually located at the top of the screen, but this depends on the device model. If you click on this slider, the driving mode will be disabled temporarily.
5. 5 Disable Driving Mode completely (on most Android devices). This process depends on the device model - the easiest way to find the Driving Mode settings is in the Settings app:
   • launch the "Settings" application;
   • click on the search bar or icon and then search for "driving" or "do not disturb";
   • select the settings related to the driving mode, which is automatically activated when you are in the car;
   • disable the settings.
6. 6 Disable driving mode on your Google device. For example, on the Pixel 2, launch the Settings app, tap Sound> Do Not Disturb Options> Driver, and then tap Delete on the rules page.
   • You may need to turn off Do Not Disturb first and then remove the Driver rule.
   • If you haven't configured a Driver rule, Driving Mode shouldn't automatically turn on on the Pixel.

Tips

• Typically, driving mode is not activated on an Android device unless you have configured it.

Warnings

• Use trial and error to disable Driving Modes completely on your Android device, as the process varies depending on the device model.
