Method 1 of 2: Computer with an external keyboard

1. 1 Open the appropriate program. Not all Microsoft programs recognize this symbol, but most sites (Facebook or Twitter, for example) understand it.
2. 2 Press the Alt key.
3. 3 Press the number 3 on the right side of the keyboard. A heart like this will appear: ♥

Method 2 of 2: Laptop

If you don't have a keyboard on the right, or are using a laptop, you can still achieve this effect.

1. 1 Press the Fn key.
2. 2 Hold it at the same time with the Alt and L keys.
3. 3 Some keys on the right hand must be numbered. The heart will appear again. ♥
4. 4 We're done.

Tips

• The keys must be pressed simultaneously, otherwise the heart will not pop out.
• Try different combinations of Alt and other keys, you can get very different results, for example ☺☻ ♥ ♣ ♠ ♥ ☻☺ ♦ ♣ ♠ ○ ◘ •
• Many sites allow you to use the "& hearts;" (no quotes or spaces) to make the heart appear.
• If you don't have an external keyboard, use the Fn key.
• 3 also turns into a heart on Facebook.
