It is very easy to draw a beautiful and peaceful lake. To convey the right atmosphere through the drawing, it is enough to choose the colors and strokes correctly.

Steps

  1. 1 Check out the pictures of the lakes for inspiration. See how they differ from each other in shape and environment, as the outlines of the lake are lost in the trees and shrubs that surround it. Thus, it makes no sense to draw strictly defined boundaries of the lake.
  2. 2 Think about how much space your lake will take up in the drawing. Sketch its shore.
  3. 3 Decide where your lake will be located. Will it be located among huge trees, or will it be part of a huge lake complex or even a swamp? Draw wherever you want.
  4. 4 Often the shores of lakes are covered with plants with slender stems. In different directions, draw several curved lines extending from one central point. This will be a picture of aquatic plants that grow so close to each other that it is difficult to draw each one individually.
  5. 5 Trees are a great addition to the landscape, try to draw different types of trees with different crowns and leaves. You can draw trees that are shaped like bonsai.
  6. 6 Draw animals! Birds (in flight or on the ground), frogs, all kinds of insects to make the lake more alive.
  7. 7 What time of day will your drawing be? If it's sunrise or sunset, add oranges, yellows, pinks, purples and reds to the sky. If it's midday, make the sky a deep blue and add a couple of white clouds.
  8. 8 Don't forget to paint the reflection in the lake! The sky should be reflected in the lake water, make the clouds more blurred in it. In reflection, everything will be less clear than in reality, so do not draw in details and slightly distort the shapes of objects.
