After you have filled the bathtub with water, you can safely place your dog in it. Put water in a cup and pour it over your dog. Do not use the shower if she is afraid.
4. 4 Lather your dog with shampoo. Start washing the dog from the front of the body and gradually work towards the back. Start at the head, work your way up to the neck, and so on towards the dog's tail. At the very end, lather your legs and tail. Wash your dog's belly very gently by lightly touching it. Do not rub or press on your stomach.
   • Do not wash your face as shampoo can get into your eyes, nose, or mouth. Instead, use a towel dipped in water to wash your dog's face.

5. 5 Rinse off the shampoo from the dog's coat. If the noise of the water doesn't scare her, you can use the shower to rinse the shampoo off her coat. If the dog is afraid, rinse the coat using a glass of water.
