It is very easy to change the location of downloaded files in Firefox. There are two ways to do this. Just follow these instructions carefully and you will succeed.

Steps

  1. 1 Open your browser and find the "Tools" option in the toolbar.
  2. 2 Click on that option to display the dropdown menu, then click on the Settings button.
  3. 3 Go to the General tab.
  4. 4 Find the "Downloads" section, where you will have 2 options to choose the location of the downloaded files. Let's consider the first option.
  5. 5 Check the "Save Files Path", a dialog box will open as shown in the picture. Choose which folder you want to save the downloaded files to. For example, if you save your files to the Downloads folder, click the Browse button.
  6. 6 Find the Downloads folder, which is usually located: C: username> Downloads. Select a folder and click the "Select Folder" button as shown in the figure.
  7. 7 The name of the Downloads folder will be displayed in a small window.
  8. 8 Click the "OK" button to save the settings. Now let's look at the 2nd option.
  9. 9 Start at step 3 and this time select "Always prompt to save files" as shown in the image field. Thus, every time you download a file, the computer will ask you which folder you want to download.

Tips

  • The Downloads folder can be a more convenient place to store your downloaded files.
  • You can also select the "Desktop" folder. However, this option has a drawback: storing downloaded files in the Desktop folder will create a "clutter" on the desktop and ultimately slow down your computer.
  • It would be a good idea to select the same folder for all downloads so that you can easily find the downloaded files later, especially if you won't be using your computer for a while.
