The garment steamer is great for removing wrinkles from clothes, although it is not popular to use. This article will teach you how to use the steamer and iron your clothes in no time.

Steps

1. 1 Plug in your steamer.
   • A steamer usually comes with a small soft cloth and a strap that goes through your hand. (If you don't have one, cut a square out of thick cardboard, make a pad using batting, and cover it with a heavy, smooth, waterproof or water-resistant material.)
2. 2 Make sure it gives off a lot of steam before using it. Test by pulling the trigger on the handle a little and see how much steam is released when you release it. In fact, you can always use that much steam and also release more steam when needed.
3. 3 Hang your clothes up and place a thick piece of fabric on the back.
4. 4 Place your hand on the bottom of the garment and use it to tighten the fabric as you steam.
5. 5 Use the steamer by holding the nozzle close to your clothing and pull it down, along with a soft area, over the clothing.

Tips

• If you have a steamer, you can actually dry clean your clothes at home. You need to purchase chemicals and learn how to use them, but it's worth it.
• If you want to revive the hat, use the steamer quite a bit, renew the shape using steam if necessary. Use newspaper to fill the head space.
• If you are trying to renew fabric, such as crushed velvet, you can use both the special attachment and the steam. Then remove the fluff using a clothes brush.
