This article is about the Dead Eye ability in Red Dead Redemption and how to use it.

Steps

1. 1 Zoom in on your Dead Eye Meter (which is located next to your mini-map in the form of a red bar) by killing enemies. This means how long you will stay in the game before Dead Eye.
2. 2To activate Dead Eye, you need to aim with your weapon (it can only be pistols / throwing weapons and not knives, fist or lasso) and press the right analog stick (R3)
3. 3 Know the levels. There are three levels of Dead Eye in Red Dead Redemption. Levels are gained while playing a single player mission.
   • The first level of Dead Eye slows down time and makes it easier for you to shoot enemies.
   • The second level of Dead Eye automatically targets parts of the enemy when you move your cross to the target. After you have made any number of crosses on the target, press the fire trigger (R2) and he will exit the Dead Eye and John will fire his pistol in quick succession at the marks that were on the enemy.
   • Level 3 Dead Eye is very similar, except that you can manually target the enemy.

Tips

• Use this when you are outnumbered because it will make the job a lot easier.
• Use this wisely, otherwise you won't have enough when you need it.
