There are many ways to find an image on the internet. This article will help you find the information you need using search words, the original image or its address.

Steps

Method 1 of 4: Part One: How Search Engines Work

1. 1 First, you need to decide on a search method. You can use both the image you have and the keywords.
2. 2 Remember that search engines mostly rely on words that are associated with an image. It is the names of the images that help people find them more easily.
   • Use additional words that flesh out the image and associate it with the place or event you want.
   • When looking for images associated with other countries, use the local names. This will help improve the accuracy of your searches.
3. 3 Take time lag into account. It usually takes 1-2 weeks for new images to appear on the first pages of search. If you are looking for something new, then try flipping through the search pages.

Method 2 of 4: Part Two: Search Operators

1. 1 If you use word search, search operators can make it much easier. They are words or characters that you can add to your query to narrow your search.
2. 2 Use the And operator if you want the search results to contain more than one word from your search query.
3. 3 Use the Not operator to exclude images with specific keywords.
4. 4 Use the "Or" operator if you are not sure which of the two words is appropriate. The search results will contain equally both search words.
5. 5 Use parentheses for words to which the image you are looking for refers to. For example, gifted (child or children).

Method 3 of 4: Part Three: Using Image Search Engines

1. 1 Choose a popular site for image searches. In 2013, these included Google.com and Bing.com. Go to the site you like.
2. 2 Click on the "Pictures" tab of the top menu.
3. 3 If you are using Bing, skip popular images.
4. 4 Enter your search term. Please note that search engines are guided by titles, titles and descriptions of images.
5. 5 Browse through the search results until you find one that suits you.
6. 6 Click on the image.
7. 7 Right click on the image and save it. Please be aware that each image has an owner and may not be used commercially.
8. 8 Select "View in original". You will be redirected to the site where the original image was located.

Method 4 of 4: Part Four: Image Search

1. 1 Place the image you want on your desktop or in a folder that's easy to find. You can also use image url.
2. 2 Go to Google.com. You need the camera icon to the right of the search box.
3. 3 Click on it.
4. 4 Use the link to the image or download the image from your computer.
5. 5 Click on the search icon.
6. 6 Review the search results. Image details will be shown first, then sites with links to images and similar results. Choose what suits you best.
