• What do you need

1 Deal 5 cards to each player.

2 Divide the rest of the cards into four piles, face down. The piles at the edges should have 5 cards each, the middle piles should have one card each.

3 Divide the remaining cards in half and give to each player. This is called a deck.

4 To start playing, both players must turn over the two middle cards at the same time.

5 On each of the cards, you can put one card of the highest or lowest rank, regardless of the suit (for example, you can put either a ten or an eight on a nine). You can put as many cards as you like at a time, and you don't have to wait for the other player to make a move.

6 A player can only have five cards in his hand. When you have made a move with one card, immediately draw a card from your supply.

7 If both players cannot make a move, then they turn over one extreme card and continue the game.

8 The player who lays down all the cards must hit both piles and say: "Speed!"

• The first player to say "speed!" wins the game.

Tips

• You can change the number of cards around the edges. For example, you can put 10 cards in each extreme pile.
