Macaron is an extremely popular French cookie. It has a delicious and crispy outside and a soft filling on the inside. When storing "pasta" it is important to keep it crispy on the outside because it can damp very quickly. Always leave cookies in an airtight container. When thawed, it must be consumed within 24 hours. And in the refrigerator, it can stay fresh for up to 3 days. You can also keep the pasta in the freezer for up to 6 months.

Steps

Method 1 of 2: How to Store Purchased Pasta Cookies

  1. 1 Store your macarons in a container with an airtight lid. A plastic or glass container is best. Make sure it is clean and dry. Double-check the lid for tightness, as even a small amount of air can cause the biscuits to become damp.
    • You can also use plastic bags with zippers, but since the macaroni cookies crumble easily, it is better to take a container with a solid body.
  2. 2 Lay out the "pasta" in one line or layer. Place the cookies in a container side by side in one layer. It's okay if they come into contact with each other, but do not overlap them. If you have a lot of cookies to store, tear off a piece of baking paper and place it on top of the first layer and line up the next layer.
    • Continue alternating the baking paper and cookie layers until it's finished.
    • Be sure to use parchment paper, not waxed paper. The waxed paper will stick to the cookies and ruin everything.
  3. 3 Eat pasta within 24 hours if not refrigerated. The biscuits will stay fresh for about one day when uncooled. If you think you can eat it during this period, place a container with it in the cupboard or on the kitchen table. Store the pasta out of direct sunlight.
  4. 4 Consume chilled cookies within 3 days. Place the container in the middle of the refrigerator where the temperature does not change. Do not store cookies in the front of the refrigerator or in the door, as temperatures fluctuate in these areas. Make sure there are no heavy objects nearby that might push the container.
  5. 5 Freeze cookies for 3-6 months. In the freezer, the macaroni will retain its flavor and texture for up to 3 months. After that, their quality will begin to deteriorate, but they will still be quite tasty up to the 6 month mark. Place the container in the back of the freezer to avoid temperature fluctuations. Leave some space for the container and do not put anything heavy or large next to it.
  6. 6 Leave the pasta to defrost for 30 minutes before serving. Once you're ready to eat your chilled or frozen cookie, take out the container and leave it on your kitchen counter for about half an hour. Allow the liver to come to room temperature, then serve.
    • If you only want to eat part of the cookie inside the container, remove the desired amount and quickly return the container back to the refrigerator or freezer.

Method 2 of 2: How to store the pasta after baking

  1. 1 Remove the pasta halves from the oven and refrigerate. Let them cool before adding the filling. If you don't, they can crack and lose their crunchy properties.Be careful with the halves as they are quite fragile after baking.
    • These halves will be the outside of the cookie, so make sure they look as perfect as possible.
  2. 2 Fill the halvesas soon as they cool completely. You can stuff them with cream cheese, fruit jams, chocolate, ganache cream, and more. Try something new or add your favorite toppings when the halves are cool.
  3. 3 Alternatively, freeze the pasta halves for later filling. You can freeze the unfilled pasta halves for about 3 months. When you're ready to finish the cookies, remove the halves from the freezer and let them come to room temperature for 30 minutes. Now you can add the filling and assemble the cookies.
  4. 4 Place the finished cookies in an airtight container. Use a plastic or glass container and make sure the lid snaps into place. Line the cookies one layer at a time. Place the pieces of baking paper between each subsequent layer.
  5. 5 Leave on the kitchen counter, refrigerate or freeze. Leave the cookies on your kitchen counter if you plan on eating them during the day. Place it in the refrigerator for up to 3 days. You can also freeze the cookies for 3-6 months.
    • If you are storing pasta in the refrigerator or freezer, place the container in the middle or back. Do not place it in the front, as the temperature there fluctuates and this will make the cookies damp.
