This article will show you how to replace your current Facebook profile photo with a temporary one that will disappear after a certain amount of time.

Steps

Method 1 of 3: On an iPhone or iPad

1. 1 Launch the Facebook app by touching the icon with a white F on a blue background.
   • If you are not automatically signed in to your account, enter your email address (or phone number) and password, and then tap the Sign In button.
2. 2 Click ☰ in the lower right corner of the screen.
3. 3 Tap your name at the top of the screen.
   • If you're using Facebook as a page, tap the page name.
4. 4 Click the Edit button at the bottom of your profile photo. The photo is at the top of the page.
5. 5 Tap Choose profile photo. Photos can be selected from several albums:
   • camera roll - photos saved in the phone;
   • Photo with you - all the photos on Facebook you are tagged on;
   • Recommended photos - selected photos from your album;
   • Downloads - select a photo from all albums on Facebook.
6. 6 Tap the photo.
7. 7 Click Make Temporary.
8. 8 Choose a duration. Select one of four options during which this photo will be used as a profile photo:
   • 1 hour;
   • 1 day;
   • 1 Week.
   • User settings (select the date of the previous photo)
9. 9 Tap the Use button in the upper right corner of the screen. The temporary profile photo will remain until it expires or until you replace it. At the end of the validity period, your previous profile photo will reappear.

Method 2 of 3: On Android

1. 1 Launch the Facebook app by touching the icon with a white F on a blue background.
   • If you are not automatically signed in to your account, enter your email address (or phone number) and password, and then tap the Sign In button.
2. 2 Tap ☰ in the lower right corner of the screen.
3. 3 Tap your name at the top of the screen.
   • If you're using Facebook as a page, tap the page name.
4. 4 Click Edit at the bottom of your profile photo. The photo is at the top of the page.
5. 5 Tap Select Profile Photo. Photos can be selected from several albums:
   • camera roll - photos saved in the phone;
   • Photo with you - all the photos on Facebook you are tagged on;
   • Recommended photos - selected photos from your album;
   • Downloads - Select a photo from all albums on Facebook.
6. 6 Tap the photo.
7. 7 Click Make Temporary.
8. 8 Choose a duration. Select one of four options during which this photo will be used as a profile photo:

9. 9 Tap the Use button in the upper right corner of the screen. The temporary profile photo will be used until it expires or until you replace it. At the end of the validity period, the previous profile photo will reappear.

Method 3 of 3: On Facebook

1. 1 Go to Facebook site. If you are automatically logged into your account, you will find yourself in your News Feed.
   • Otherwise, enter your email address and password in the upper right corner of the page and click Sign In.
2. 2 Click on the tab with your name at the top right of the page.
   • The tab will also have a small image of the current profile photo.
3. 3 Hover over the photo and click on Update profile photo. The profile photo is in the upper left corner of the page.
4. 4 Select a photo. Browse all your photos on Facebook or click on Upload Photos to add your photos to Facebook.
5. 5 Click on Make Temporary.
6. 6 Click on the 1 day box. It is located to the right of the "Revert old photo after" line, above the "Make temporary" option.Choose one of the following terms:
   • 1 hour;
   • 1 day;
   • 1 Week;
   • Never.
   • User settings (select the date of the previous photo)
7. 7 Click Save. You have successfully added your temporary profile photo.
