It is also possible that the modem is using its default username and password. They can be found in the user manual or on the label on the modem itself.
  4. 4 Go to the modem settings page. While each modem is slightly different, they all have a Settings or Management tab that can be accessed with network administrator access. This tab should automatically appear in the browser. There should also be an option to restart the modem with "factory settings".
