This article will show you how to block calls from unknown numbers on iPhone.

Steps

Method 1 of 3: Using Do Not Disturb

1. 1 Open the Settings app. The icon for this application looks like gray gears and is usually located on the home screen.
2. 2 Tap Do Not Disturb. This option is in the section that is located at the top of the menu; the option icon looks like a crescent moon on a purple background.
3. 3 Select Allow calls. You will find this option in the middle of the screen.
4. 4 Click From All. This option can be found in the "Groups" section. Now that you have activated the Do Not Disturb function, only people who are in your smartphone contacts can call you.
   • Swipe up on the Home or Lock screen, and then tap the crescent-shaped icon at the top of Control Center to turn Do Not Disturb on or off.

Method 2 of 3: How to block calls from any unknown number

1. 1 Open the Phone app. Its icon looks like a white telephone receiver on a green background.
2. 2 Click Contacts. This person-shaped icon is in the middle of the bottom of the screen.
3. 3 Tap +. You will find this button in the upper right corner of the screen.
4. 4 Enter "Unknown" in the "First Name" and "Last Name" lines.
5. 5 Click Save. This option is located in the upper right corner of the screen.
6. 6 Select Block Caller. You will find this option at the bottom of the screen.
7. 7 Tap Block Contact. Now most calls from unknown numbers will be blocked.
   • Friends or family members will not be able to reach you if they call from an unknown number.

Method 3 of 3: How to block calls from a specific unknown number

1. 1 Open the Phone app. Its icon looks like a white telephone receiver on a green background.
2. 2 Click Recent. This clock-shaped icon is located in the lower left corner of the screen.
3. 3 Tap the ⓘ icon next to a number you do not know. You will find this blue icon on the right side of your screen.
4. 4 Scroll down and tap Block Caller. This option can be found at the bottom of the menu.
5. 5 Click Block contact. Now calls from this number will be blocked.

Warnings

• Friends or relatives will not be able to get through to you if they call from a blocked number or from a number that is not in the contacts of the smartphone.
