It is quite easy to activate macros in a Word document, and this can protect you from the spread of a virus on your computer (but you must be sure that the macro is from a reliable source).
Steps
- 1 Open a Word document and click on the "Microsoft Office" button in the upper left corner of the screen.
- 2 In the menu that opens, click Word Options.
- 3 Click Trust Center - Trust Center Options - Macro Options.
- 4 Click Disable all macros without notification if you don't trust macros.
- 5 Click "Disable all macros with notification" if you do not trust macros, but want the program to notify you of their presence in the document.
- 6 Click Disable all macros except digitally signed macros if you trust macros from a specific source (see section "Tips").
- 7 Click Enable All Macros (Not Recommended) if you want to activate all macros without warning.
Tips
- If you are sure that the macro document came from a trusted source, click Trust all documents from this publisher; this will add the publisher to your trusted publishers list.
