This wikiHow teaches you how to save a copy of your Firefox bookmarks to your computer. Note: you can't do this on the mobile app.
Steps
- Open Firefox. The app has an icon that looks like an orange fox wrapped around a blue sphere. You need to do this on your computer's Firefox version.
Click the "Bookmarks" icon with a box of horizontal lines to the right of the "Search" bar. A drop-down menu will appear.- Click Show All Bookmarks (Show All Bookmarks) is at the top of the drop-down menu. Your bookmark library will then appear in a new window.
Click Import and Backup (Export and Backup). Options with a star icon and a rotating arrow mark, located at the top of the bookmark gallery window. Another drop-down menu will appear.- Click Export Bookmarks to HTML ... (Export Bookmarks to HTML) near the bottom of the drop-down menu. A File Explorer (Windows) or Finder (Mac) window will open.
Enter a name for the bookmark file. Type in the name you want to use for the file (eg "bookmarks 2017").
Choose a storage location. Click on a folder located in the left pane of the window (for example: Desktop). This is where your bookmark file will be saved.- Click Save (Save) in the lower-right corner of the window. Your bookmark file will be saved to the desired location with the name selected. advertisement
Advice
- After saving the bookmark file, you can export the bookmark to another browser (such as Chrome, Safari or Internet Explorer) and continue using it.
