This article shows you how to view the list of close friends on Facebook. This group includes people with whom you regularly interact and find. Note that Facebook uses an algorithm to identify your close friends, and it changes frequently.

Steps

Method 1 of 2: On the phone

1. 

   Open Facebook. Tap on an app with a white "f" symbol on a blue background to open Facebook. This will open the News Feed page if you are logged in.
   • If you aren't logged in, enter your email address and password before continuing.

   Touch ☰ In the bottom-right corner of the screen (on iPhone) or in the top-right corner of the screen (on Android).
   • Some versions of Facebook have a three-dot icon instead of an icon ☰.

   See a list of your friends. Anyone who shows up near the top of the page is identified by Facebook as one of the people closest to you.
   • You typically interact less with people at the bottom of a list than with people at the top.
   • The general rule of thumb is to see that the 5 to 10 people at the top of this list are people you keep in contact with. This is calculated by the interactions between you and them, not necessarily the interactions between them and you.

Method 2 of 2: On the computer

   Open Facebook by visiting https://www.facebook.com/ to open the News Feed page if you are logged into Facebook.
   • If you aren't logged into Facebook, first enter your email address and password in the top-right corner of the page.

   Click your name tag. This is the tab in the top left corner of the Facebook page that shows your name. This will open your profile.

3. 

   Click on options Friends (Friends) below the cover photo at the top of the page to open the friends list.

   See a list of your friends. Anyone shown near the top of this list is someone who is considered by Facebok as one of your close friends (whom you contact regularly).
   • See that the first 5-10 people on the list are the people you contact frequently. This is calculated by the interaction between you and them, not necessarily the interaction between them and you.
   • The names at the bottom of the list are usually the ones with little interaction; The only exception is when you befriend someone and immediately start chatting with them or viewing their posts.

Advice

• If you have added someone to your Facebook "Close Friends" list, they will automatically show up near the top of the list than if you haven't added them to your "Best Friends" list.
• You can use your browser's code to track your close friends' Facebook interactions, but the information is no different from the results you see in your friends list.

Warning

• Don't install any Facebook apps that claim to track your profile visitors. Facebook doesn't disclose how to track your profile's viewers, so any app claiming this is either fraudulent or, worse, malicious code.
